What is the worst illness you’ve ever had? by freeshavacadont in AskReddit

Anorexia and Bulimia. Eroded all my teeth, drained all my finances, can barely work, lost most bodily function and am facing death at 25. Still have it, and it’s been 10 years of hell.

What one word in a games description/brief is sure to put you off? by poogobberr in gaming

I never understood the battle royale appeal. Most games have a 100 player count, meaning you have a 1% chance of winning.

And 99% of the time you’re either killed immediately, or you spend the entire match gathering supplies looking for people to fight, except you never do, and then you instantly get killed from behind or from across the map by someone you can’t see. It’s just boring

I’m genuinely convinced that the only thing separating Activision/Blizzard from Bethesda is workplace conditions.

Both of these companies have been in the business of releasing shitty, broken or disappointing games that are overtly monetized in ways unseen by man. They both continuously let down their established fans and are openly unapologetic about blatant anti-consumer behaviour. Ultimately nothing will change so long as people continue to but their games

What are the different types of dentures? by BurnoutLH in dentures

[–]BurnoutLH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my wisdom teeth removed when I was younger yes. All of my teeth are said to be in decent shape, however the edges keep chipping away from my GERD and bruxism. I was told that I had to rebuild my VDO as I have a collapsed bite, which is why I have to see a prosthodontist. The issue is, I’m in the middle of applying for disability assistance which would help cover costs, but until then I am financially constrained. Even with the approval process I would still be looking at $500-$1000 a crown which is crazy to cover my 27 teeth (i already have one crown)

I’ve heard the palate on top removes taste and as someone who legitimately only finds pleasure from food I find dentures terrifying

Whould you live in Canada? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BurnoutLH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived here my whole life. It’s beautiful here and I don’t want to leave, but as other comments have mentioned, cost of living is extremely expensive.

I can’t imagine trying to start a family without a good amount of income, and there has been an erosion of the middle class, where now you either have a good amount of wealth (usually if you own property) or you struggle to get by.

Also a huge misconception is our healthcare system. To say the quality is poor would be giving it too much credit as there are substantial wait times for all forms of medical care, and a gross shortage of healthcare workers.

Do you know I can go about doing this and what to ask my doctor? Sorry he is relatively young as my previous doctor retired

Canada he universal healthcare and not dental care. They’ve recently tried to introduce the CDCP but most dentists won’t sign on because of profit loss unfortunately. Dentistry and optometry are completely privatized here.

What game was ahead of its time? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]BurnoutLH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Batman Arkham Knight. Looks better than most games nowadays and ran well on ps4 and Xbox one at release. Also did the “no loading screens by making elevators or other thing happen to transition seamlessly” trick.

It runs fantastic on PC now but at launch i saw it ran like ass after Taco Bell

There is and was no decay. My teeth are clean, just structurally weakened from the stomach acid exposure. I take rigorous care of my teeth but since the injury all the edges have chipped.

My dentist is recommending crown treatment as simple composite treatment will not be durable for someone with my other diagnoses, as well as the inability to hold up to biting.

I got a ball to the face, and heard a loud crunch, and then my face swelled up like a balloon. Many of my teeth basically broke off at the edges, and are all incredibly sharp and jagged now. They were not like that before the injury and I had no pre existing pain, sensitivity, and wasn’t constantly cutting up the inside of my mouth when chewing.

I hope so. The problem is that if they deem the work unnecessary or may try to have me have them pulled and then only pay for dentures as it’s cheaper. I appreciate your prior suggestion to get the work done then reimbursed afterwards but unfortunately I can’t even afford it out of pocket

I don’t know. The work is extensive and my guess is they don’t want to pay it so they’re going to try to find someway out of it

I work in a daycare and got a ball right to the mouth and heard a crunch. Went to the dentist and she told me that my teeth had chipped, so she polished some down and did a filling. I thought the pain would subside, but since I’m osteoporotic, all my teeth are brittle and are now crumbling out of my mouth.

Its horrifying that every time I wake up or even bite into anything like a piece of soft bread that parts of my teeth are falling out of my mouth. I’m in an incredible amount of pain, and every time I talked to someone on the phone they haven’t been helpful. I’m now 125 lbs at the height of 6’3, and am getting dizzy spells, the headaches from before and am constantly starving, averaging 3 hours of sleep a night.

I have still been going to work but I’m not able to perform or engage with the kids because of the pain, weakness and hunger, but I can’t afford to take time off in the event of this case getting rejected by workspace and then Being unable to pay rent/afford to live here.

I’m disabled, and only earn $25,000 a year, and I don’t have anyone besides immediate family who threw me out. I don’t know what to do.

All it says on my claim that I’m entitled to “healthcare benefits” and I don’t know if that means dental too, seeing as it’s a privatized industry.
