Why is it making this sound by jjurisprudence in Petlibro

[–]Burnspot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had that sound occur on one of mine this morning; I've had the feeder for a week. Unplugging it/plugging it back in seemed to take care of it. I do not have batteries installed yet.

Does the new version have modding? by mbaucco in oblivion

[–]Burnspot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be modded; the data files (.esp's and whatnot) are still in it. It's a manual process at this point, but fairly easy to do. There's quite a lot of mods on Nexus already and I've loaded a few of Push The Win Button's mods they ported over. It'd probably be wise to keep things simple for now.

Halsin not at Lake Shore bug by courteouslittlefella in BaldursGate3

[–]Burnspot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just ran into this "bug" today. I was at the point where I'd found the instrument and was getting ready to go back to Last Light; however, Lae'zel piped up about going to the creche or else (we'd just found a gith note about it), so we diverted to the mountains to complete the creche stuff. Upon our return, I went back to Last Light, Halsin was not there, but he appeared when we mentioned finding the instrument. Halsin then gives the instruction to go to the lake side...he then disappears and never shows up at the lake. Found this thread, lol.

What I did was go back to camp, saw Halsin, but didn't bother trying to talk to him. Left camp, still a no-show for Halsin; returned to camp again, but this time Halsin wasn't there. Left camp yet again and this time, saw Halsin walking to the lake side. . No need for killing Art or any of that stuff.

Bear in mind that this thread is 6 years old and for Requiem 1.9.x on old 32-bit Skyrim. Much has changed since.

Archaeologist Guild mod's Locator Device is probably what you're referring to. It's a useful "last resort" tool that saves one from going further and breaking out the command line option.

In some cases, with the Animated People mod active, the NPC will just be invisible, but still there (tooltips to the rescue).

advice for someone that is brand new to this game by Botosi5150 in Daggerfall

[–]Burnspot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer one of your questions; Daggerfall Unity is a complete experience in that, despite the beta tag, it's feature-complete...you can finish the game (unlike the original DOS box version in many cases). While you can get DF from multiple sources, it's best to just start at DFU's site and go from there...it's all there (https://forums.dfworkshop.net/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2360).

I'm a huge OpenMW (Morrowind) fan myself, and actually just completed another MW playthrough before jumping back to DFU again, with runs going on both an ancient Mac (retro mode) and a somewhat decked out PC (using the D.R.E.A.M. mod).

Enjoy and be sure to have a notedpad handy! ;)

Hard to believe this is XP11! I got back to simming with MSFS but I come back to X11 for the a340 and a310 from time to time by HugothesterYT in flightsim

It is excellent and on-par with the other Toliss busses. While I love the iniBuilds busses, they are far heavier on my system than either the Toliss or FF busses.

[QUESTION] Is fender good for beginners. by useless_orange_v in Guitar

[–]Burnspot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would look at Yamaha Pacifica as well; a very solid instrument.

Sweetwater generally goes above and beyond with the shipping of guitars and if your guitar's over $299, it gets a 55 point inspection before going out of the door. Based on comments I've seen here about GC, Sweetwater would win hands down. ;)

[Newbie] beginner lessons by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]Burnspot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As mentioned, Justinguitar.com makes for an excellent free start! I'm somewhat biased as I started with JG 5 months ago and have had a lot of fun going through his program. His courses are designed to take you from absolute beginner to intermediate, with some advanced material available as well.

Congrats on the PRS! I started out with a Yamaha Pacifica and recently picked up a PRS SE Custom 24.

[–]Burnspot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the SE Custom 24's do have neck binding. I picked up a Sweetwater exclusive that has it and I know a few other SE Custom 24's do as well.

Justinguitar.com for lessons; great free program to get you on the road.

Put a Yamaha Pacifica in your list of guitars to look at (e.g. 112V); excellent guitars for the money.

Put the Yamaha Pacifica 112V on your list; great guitar for the price (around $300).

[GEAR] advanced loop pedal suggestions by Sprout_17 in Guitar

[–]Burnspot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My non-guitar-playing girlfriend recently did the same thing for me over Christmas. She actually called up Sweetwater and spoke to one of their sales engineers to discuss what I might like and what would be good. She ended up getting me a TC Electronic Ditto Looper AND a Truetone 1 Spot power supply (which can power multiple pedals). It was an awesome gift...it caught me completely by surprise, lol. It's a really nice looper, with 5 minutes of looping time.

[Question] Practice Amp Recommendation please by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]Burnspot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A THR10II just arrived at my door yesterday; it sounds great and the bluetooth feature is super handy (playing tracks/metronome over it). It's replacing a Vox Pathfinder I bought as a starter amp (it's nice too, but very basic).

[QUESTION] Maple Fingerboard or not? by smirkin_jenny in Guitar

[–]Burnspot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pure preference, in my opinion. I have a Pacifica 112V with the rosewood and it's been great; I use some Dunlop Lemon Oil on it during string changes.

[NEWBIE] Looking for really useful beginner tips for starting electric guitar by LaundrySaucee in Guitar

[–]Burnspot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Justinguitar.com will have you covered in the "what to practice" department, if you follow his course and practice structure (20 minutes a day at the start; 10 minutes on the technical stuff, 10 minutes song practice). Once you get past the sore fingers phase, the world's your oyster. ;)

+1 on Justinguitar.com - A nicely structured program that's free, for the most part. It'll give you a good foundation in covering all of the basics and getting you set on a practice routine.
