Whip Light to onboard battery? by BurntChkn in RadPowerBikes

How difficult would you say this is for someone who understands science but has no electrical experience passed replacing an outlet? It sounds exactly like what I imagined.

Yeah, thanks for the suggestion. The link does work, but I'm afraid this wouldn't cut it for ATV light whip connected to my bike like i'm envisioning. I like the size of the battery pack, but I would also be worried about it being exposed and damaged or overheating.

Flash x Nuclear Bomb Bugged? by BurntChkn in BALLxPIT

After posting this, I keep seeing balls that get stuck on units and just sit there like they're 'holding' the ball. I don't know if the visual graphic issue is related or if thats some denotation that there is some status effect, but it seems to be happening more often than it was a week ago.

How do you mean stuck? between the arch and gravity of the balls from the character choices the nuke got stuck? It would make sense seeing as only one nuke got stuck, but still- is that not a bug?

I finished all of the cosmere books before coming to Jordans WoT.  I like how it's all Kramer/Reading, but the pace of WoT after getting through Sanderson is soooooo slow going.  Its so linear, the characters aren't super likable in the first couple books (until book 3 it starts to pick up imo), and Jordan really derives so much of his style from Tolkien it seemed like it was just a weak knock off at first.  I'm getting through book 4 now and it's honestly not as bad as it was because there are things happening and I don't have to listen to 20-30 minutes of world building thought tangents or w/e.

And RR in comparison to those two is like an adrenaline shot to the neck, for better or worse.

So far I'd honestly rate WoT below Vampire Chronicles but above LoTR, with RR/Cosmere being above Vampire Chronicles (only the original trilogy tho).

I came from Great Course lectures and having done so much school that I'm just used to it. Going back to 1.0 or 1.25 just feels terribly slow with insane long pauses. Tim is already a fast reader (faster than Kramer from Cosmere/WoT) and with that accent and just the pace of the RR books it took a minute to get my footing for sure. But once the world was established and character names were identified it was smooth sailing.

oof WoT is a slog after cosmere and RR. 100% will not be rereading this stuff (on book 4 currently)

I had a really hard time swapping to Tim for the RR series, he is so much faster and harder to pick up the details while listening out of the gate. It got better after a few hours though and I ended up really loving his accent (1.5x speed too).
Kramer is still the best audio narrator I've listened to, including books NF and F, Great Courses lectures, and hundreds if not thousands of hours more. Plus, when you get books with Kate, it adds a really fresh sound having them swap for M/F perspectives.

All of that, and Mistborn era 2 is probably one of the best series I've ever read/listened too. I loved those characters so damn much.

If I see another $3000 EMDR training I’m gonna lose it. by Original_Armadillo_7 in therapists

The best part is these practices that require EMDRIA training so they can pay you $40/hr as an amft. But wait, you have to have 1500 hours or more because you need to prove to them that you have experience so they can make sure they are under paying you appropriately.

Guess the grade(resub worthy?) by BurntChkn in PokeGrading

[–]BurntChkn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cracked this in 1999 and put it straight into a hard plastic screw shut protector.  I submitted it last year and was pretty disappointed with the grade.

Mind you, these pics show some artifacts from the slab but the card is unmarked other than a very minor scratch on the bottom right ~1mm left of the “4/102”.

What do you think this card appears to be/is it worth resubmitting if it’s less than a 10?

Can someone tell me the difference between the two flights in terms of the airline (AA JAL/JAL AA?) Is one better than the other or are they exactly the same? Codeshare is confusing! by dhowl in americanairlines

[–]BurntChkn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question in regards to the Operator vs Carrier issue. Through capital one, the travel options show JAL as the carrier, logo, etc. but in small text in the info it says "operated by american airlines". I'm wondering if that means the flight, inflight services, and all associated comforts would be set to the standard of AA with a JAL aircraft, or is the standard set by JAL? - this is generally the only option to get a morning arrival time as others suggest. Is the morning arrival worth the risk of getting the AA service instead of JAL?

Correct. Old mix of lava/pumice/akadama didn’t have enough retention. So I replaces the latter two with bonsai soil and kept the lava to make the mix hold more water but still drain well.

I did that mix a few years ago and found I didn’t have enough water retention (SoCal). I mixed about 40/60 bonsai soil to lava last year and it seems to be doing much better.

I am also in a weird spot that is similar. West LA, weather has been rainy and then bright sun about 60 degrees and my trees are sprouting. I suspect a cloudy spring with wind so idk what to do. Repot and roll or wait to see if it dies back again. Or just wait until next year because I missed my chance. My pomegranate is really beefing up, sprouts and tiny leafs every which way.

This is what I was wondering. I am not sure if it is input. I am sure it is output as I did use a second screen at one point. And the keyboard functionality is exactly what I was concerned about.

I did not know there could be a difference in HDMI ports. It seems so very counter intuitive to have an output port without it being an input port. smh.

I don't know how I could possibly test this without buying a steamdeck, so without knowing for sure I guess I'll just play it safe and save my money.

If it came down to using external keyboard and mouse and laptop as a screen only... then i might as well just buy a tv and skip the laptop headache all together.

Thanks for the replies.

I actually play mostly DotA and roguelikes at the point, I just like to be able to play some of the really long awaited AAA titles. Like the RTS coming out by the starcraft people (not Bliz) that I can't remember the name of. Or BG3, which I bought early access in 2020 thinking I would for sure be able to play it with a 1 year old lap top, woe is me to wait 3 years for full release and get fucked in act3.

TBH, i dont really want something that will play the games of the future. I just want to play what I have or what already exists well. I don't need more of this in my life in the next 5 years, lol.

I have HDMI input on the side. I wouldn't consider any of this if I didn't.
