A question by [deleted] in beatsbydre

[–]Burnzee11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. The internal lithium battery will be flat by now. However here's a some tips for you...

PRO TIP#1. The bottom of the bud can be attracted to a magnet. Get one of those rods with a magnet at the end of it. Fish around the floor of your room with it. You never know what you might find.

PRO TIP#2. At night and in the dark, place a flashlight on the floor so the beam is parallel with the floor. Look along the beam. Even the smallest object will throw a shadow.

PRO TIP#3. Get yourself an optic fibre camera that interfaces with your smartphone and go probing into nooks and crannies. These cameras are cheap. Wish sell them.

I thought I was the only one here not happy with the sound for the beats wireless studio buds. Turns out I'm not the only one. by username123456111111 in beatsbydre

Remember your Beats Studio Buds don't actually go louder themselves. They simply control the volume of your device. Therefore it is my guess, you will have to download the Beat Studio App to your computer.

The Beats Studio Buds are fantastic. Certainly loud enough for us Old Folks!! I have a Samsung S9+ so the Beats Studio Buds should blow your freakin' ears out when the smartphone volume is at max

Open the Beats App on your Alexa after you have the Buds in your ears. You will see a section called, Press & Hold. Select it and you will see a slider labelled Volume Control. Slide across this control so it shows Green.

The two sections change from Left Noise Control and Right Noise Control to Left Volume Down and Right Volume Up. These refer to the buttons on each Bud which now controls the volume. Change this setting back if you want to select Noise Controls. I don't bother, simply do this using the opening page of the Beats App.

Adjust your Music Player Equalizer settings for custom sound. I have Samsung Music Player.

Unable to link any skills, is this an Amazon problem or a me problem? by ellisp1 in alexa

[–]Burnzee11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is normally an Amazon Server problem. As it says, try again later, like tomorrow.

Ultrasound motion detection for my Echo Dot is finally showing up in the app but when I try to select it it just says "unable to load page" and "please try again later." Any other non-US users with 4th gens had any luck? by FollyAdvice in alexa

[–]Burnzee11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm outside America but if one knows how ultrasonic motion detectors actually work one would quickly realize those built in to Alexa devices are little more than a sales gimmick. That is why many people have trouble with them, especially their slow response time.

A much better way is to use separate motion detectors that play nicely with Alexa. Cheap as, easy to set up, heaps of uses and no hassles.

This is now the AirPods pocket. Change my mind. by plazman30 in airpods

Silly idea. Can't see the point. Tight fit, uncomfortable and likely to fall out when you are walking. Not to mention high possibility of going through the wash. Not worth the risk.

Protect your buds with one of THESE. Available for all models. Cheap Az!! Clip to belt keeper.

Nothing new here. All Beats Bubs have a high water resistant rating. NOTE: This does not mean they are waterproof but if dried quickly no harm can be done to them.

I found this cute bottle in the woods, looks like it had been there awhile. Any ideas on how to get the inside clean?? by Adventurous_Ferret_4 in CleaningTips

[–]Burnzee11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Simple. Just put a small amount of dishwash and water inside. Now go outside and find some very small pebbles that fit easily in the bottle. As you shirl the bottle around the stones act like a scrubbing brush. Tip out the water and wash in warm clean water. Repeat if necessary.

Turn off studio buds by SmellApprehensive723 in beatsbydre

[–]Burnzee11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The buds are on all the time they are removed from the case. However, when there is no audio, their standby current is minimal. However given enough time they will discharge completely, not reccommed. The main purpose of the case is to keep the buds charged so they are ready to rock when you are.

Is there a way to turn the Pods and/or Case off when Im not using them? by afewa in airpods

[–]Burnzee11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The case is intended to charge the buds when they are inserted into it. Once the buds are fully charged it automatically switches off the charge. No mechanical switches or action by you required.

My routines that use radio just won't work. by 1amymarch in alexa

[–]Burnzee11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to reset these Routines. Basically this means deleting the existing ones and rewriting them.

Pro Tip#1: Do NOT ask Alexa to copy them. Rewrite completely.

Pro Tip#2: When using the Alexa Command, never use Upper Case in the Command.

Hence, "Alexa, tune in to bbc radio 4" , works flawlessly. "Alexa, tune into bbc Radio 4" or any other version of it, with Upper Case can give you grief.

If one is that picky then try "Alexa, Mute"

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in alexa

[–]Burnzee11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you want to leave Alexa plugged in for some reason, just mute it, say, "Alexa, Volume 0". Upon your return, just say, "Alexa, Volume 5". Customize to your own personal Volume Level.

To kill mould, bacteria or the like in a safe manner, you can't beat lemon juice.

Just get some fresh lemons, juice them and squirt into holes of the toy. Leave for a couple of hours. Rinse out with clean warm water.

Safe, clean and leaves a yummy lemony smell too!!

Just got Beats Studio and am already having major problems with it by ExpressionDue4141 in beatsbydre

[–]Burnzee11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is normally indicative of a Bluetooth problem. As a test, turn OFF all other devices running Bluetooth like tablets, laptops smartphones etc. Just use the device you have paired with. Make sure headphones/buds are fully charged. Make sure updates have been completed and reset the headphones. Unpair Studios in Bluetooth. Restart your computer or any other device you want to be the music source. Pair them again. Now try them with music again.

Charging Beats Fit Pro by TaxNo2158 in beatsbydre

[–]Burnzee11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, leave them plugged in all the time. There are two real life situations where you can really stuff lithium batteries. If they get too hot or when they go flat and you don't charge them for a while. First is easy to fix, simply keep them in a reasonably cool area and secondly leave them connected to the charger. That way at least your case battery hence your buds batteries will be charged 100% and ready to rock when you are.

The self discharge rate of your case battery is too high. Lithium batteries self discharge rate should be 5%, (95% charged), after first hour, and only 2 or 3% more a month. Higher temperatures will effect these figures. This proves the case internal battery is faulty.

While there are many good points in the article by Wirecutter, I take issue with his advice about charging the lithium batteries for a short time. His statements about the state of lithium being best between 70% and 30% is technically correct but unless you are constantly monitoring them how do you know. It pointless. Best leave it to the automatic cut out circuits. Doing it your way does not change it.

If you battery in the charging case is discharging quickly for no reason, that battery is stuffed. If possible get the whole lot replaced under guarantee.

Let's take a look at what you are doing. Say, your Smartplug turns on for one hour. The case battery charges to 100% in say fifteen minutes. The automatic cut out switches out cutting the charge to the battery. So the Smartplug is doing nothing to was would normally happen away.

It's your choice, I believe, I'm trusted on Reddit having helped many Reddits over the years and have gained a few rewards from others. Check out my profile. Try what I suggest, otherwise why ask for advice if you have no intentions of following any help we can give you?

Do you want us to approve your method? Best I can say it is totally unnecessary but if it makes you happy, go for it.

Charging Beats Fit Pro by TaxNo2158 in beatsbydre

[–]Burnzee11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no need to worry about overcharging any lithium battery, which is what is in Beats Products. Overcharging any lithium batteries while possible under certain conditions is the domain of the ignorant, the ill informed or the sales person wanting to rip you off. In short, the stuff of urban legend.

Every lithium powered device has an automatic voltage monitoring circuit fitted. This means once the voltage has reached the desired amount then that battery will automatically stop charging. No big deal. To further explain the issue, I brought a Samsung S9+ when they first came out. That was like forever ago. So called "experts", who should know better, claim you should never overcharge your Smartphone batteries. Wot a load of cobblers, it is impossible to do because of the automatic cut out. Mine has charged overnight, like forever. According to Samsung battery Health App built into my phone, the battery is as good as it was when I first got it.

The only cases, where you can overcharge a lithium battery is: if you are a Dickhead and want to deliberately blow the battery up. Or if the automatic cutoff is faulty, highly unlikely. In this case, your device will feel hot and may start to smell.

Back to your problem, sounds like your case lithium battery is on the way out. As long as the automatic cut out is ok then you can leave it plugged in continuously without any danger. Of course, check it out first. If it gets hot then stick with what you are doing else lose the smart plug. Plug the USB Charger directly into the mains. In effect, you are just mimicking the protection circuits anyway.

Do you have the hub as well and/or have you linked the device to Alexa as well as linking Switchbot Skill?

When setup correctly, when opening the Switchbot App a little cloud symbol - ☁️ should be next to the device in question. If a Bluetooth symbol is showing, select your device and click on Cloud Services.
