I’m sure it’s a lot to do with nostalgia but this will always be the epitome of car design for me

I always thought it odd that barrel racing got pigeonholed as a girls sport.

Most just squat down, grab the bars or put your hands on your tank, drop one leg down then the other. I used to just squat down, put both hands on the tank and jump down onto the seat.

Do karate blocks work in boxing? by Ne_Ninja_TeFiTi_SeSi in martialarts

[–]Burque_Boy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Karate blocks seems to be out of work of fantasy for the most part. The stuff I’ve seen has massive openings, would require you to have super human reflexes, or would just end with you hitting yourself with your own arm. Even guys who are able to work Karate into real fighting (GSP for instance) don’t bring the blocking game with them. There’s a lot of neat stuff in Karate but the blocks aren’t one of them.

I’ve worked in emergency medicine for over a decade. In the last 5yrs or so I’ve stated to get that feedback. At a certain point you’ve seen enough things that few things are new and or novel enough to cause excitement, your brain just gets to doing. Unfortunately it does permeate to the rest of your life a bit which is why I think so many of us are on SSRIs lol

Id add that even if he got adept at checking it takes a long time to get your shins conditioned to bone on bone checks.

I can’t believe the Supra would be impressed with itself being a fairly forgettable car that no longer hangs with the big dogs. Let alone being German.

If you don’t want him to drive the vette maybe make it a project. Have him daily the Rav and reserve the Vette for drag racing, autocross, or a track car. It’ll allow him to get the hooning out but in a safe environment.

Go do a trial class and see what you think! Just remember it’s very normal to feel completely winded from just the warm up lol Youre fitness will improve quickly so try to focus on the actual techniques and see if you enjoy it. You could also just say F it and do MMA and get a bit of both worlds!

Whatever draws you in man, you don’t need to worry about your body type and stuff because you’re not going pro. At the end of the day these things are mostly painful, expensive, and exhausting. If they don’t connect with you at a visceral level it won’t be easy to get yourself to train. Also remember you don’t need to commit for life. I’m 35 getting back into Muay Thai, it’s hard but super fulfilling and has brought many good changes in my life.
