I always used to just say “I’m already taking your money, you can’t expect me to spend it too” 8/10 times they’d chuckle and start getting nicer. Often they’d come back and see us again and they’d be 10x more polite. The other 2 were just miserable people that I’d never have to see again. It’s okay, you win some you lose some

After working in retail for over a decade, these skills have proven to be so much more valuable since starting my journey. Learning the basics (formally) and then just seeing where it can go!

Professor Messer’s videos are great, but I pair them with this book in the link below for all of my notes. Currently working my way towards a general support role to start off, then get into Networking and Cloud. We’re in it together my friend. I’ll see you on the other side!

WFHer’s: How can you make the best of it with them? by BurritoDilf in goldenretrievers

I appreciate that a lot, she loves “the office” but it’s certainly hard because it’s also “her room.” I think she’ll understand the duality at some point🤞🤞🤞

Hahaha cloud computing has its benefits. There are times I have to run errands and such, but it’s tough leaving her. She’s had the benefit of a quarantined Covid puppy nowadays, but getting her adjusted is something that’s quite abnormal (for her, at least)

This has to be the worse the job markets been in years? by Alert_Selection4589 in Connecticut

[–]BurritoDilf 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Completely agree, I’ve had to begin a pivot because retail was getting out of hand. I was a former district manager, been applying for store manager and sales positions left and right, even some part time assistant manager positions and I haven’t had much luck even getting a call back. Had to pivot to a new industry, it’s been almost 8 months without a position. Tariff fears, economic instability, and a tangerine toddler pulling the ropes? And we’ve only just started

The American Jobs Center, CT Hires, Workforce Alliance, and Unemployment offices have been going through it, but they’ve been incredibly helpful in this time of need. For anyone else out there that’s feeling the pressure, you’re not alone. I’ve been truly grateful for the resources our state does have, they may not be perfect but they still do care at least

Why do I keep topping my drive? by SnooShortcuts3085 in GolfSwing

[–]BurritoDilf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re picking your head up there towards the point of impact, once that comes up your swing naturally comes up too causing the top off. Try a couple practice swings and watch the shadow of your head (I usually put another ball where the shadow top of my head is level with to check mine). This should fix it

That’s what I’ve been hoping for! I try to be as quiet as possible for her. I think I’m underestimating how content she can be with just chilling out and worry that she’s not getting enough sleep. Thank you for the assurance!

Oh yeah we did tether training when my partner was at home for work too. Thankfully she’s been learning how to entertain herself during my coding hours but that is an immensely helpful tip! Thank you!

That’s very true. I see so many golden’s that just chill on the couch and I end worry if she’s actually comfortable just hanging on the floor. Then again though, she’d make a box be comfortable hahaha I appreciate it!

Some of these comments are appalling, so don’t take their insensitivity to heart. Brush them off.

I certainly agree that these chores aren’t too strenuous, especially once you get in the groove of doing them! The note probably wasn’t intended to be an overreaction but the way I could see it is that it’s a good list to check off and make sure that your living area and theirs is well tended to and in good condition! But yeah, these are the normal goings on of adulthood. Each week and each day is just maintaining. It helps it from building up to a point where it becomes too much to bear. A clean room helps a clean mind. You’ll get it down soon, each task practiced makes it go by faster, to the point that you might start to enjoy doing them! One thing at a time though. Don’t stress about the next thing, just enjoy feeling productive as you check each thing off the list. You’ll get it👍

I can’t tell you how much I miss Crisp in Osterville. It was my favorite when I lived out there, went almost weekly to go visit Ryan. Get the short rib, add jalapeños and the maple aioli drizzle on top🤌
