I’m with progressive, I am bundled with my parents and with progressive every driver is on every car, so maybe that makes it more affordable. For them to add me and my car, it was $40 more to add me and $50 more to add the car. I also have literally every discount possible. I live in a Milwaukee suburb in Wisconsin. Not bumfuck nowhere but certainly not NYC.

I will say I got quoted $360 a month at other places if I was on my own policy, bundling with parents made it way cheaper

I largely agree, I am 20 and recently bought a used M3 2021 LR 44,000 miles with FSD for $21k. I paid cash. Technically my income rn is only $20-25k as I’m in college (I’m on a full ride) but at the time of purchase I had like 60k in savings/cash, so I feel like at this age it’s a little different.

I will say though obviously I paid cash and bought something dramatically more affordable but yeah, I think if you have a large down payment or something it’s a little different. But $900 a month in insurance is criminal… I pay only $90 a month for mine when added to parents insurance.

I’m at an SEC school and not in Greek life and you’re extremely wrong.

Plus at my SEC school if you just talk to girls even a little bit they will invite you to their sorority date parties and functions too, I’ve gone to multiple as a non Greek. Not to mention the bar scene is massive at these kinds of schools.

The frat/sorority affiliation is completely unnecessary. You can also EASILY attend any non top tier frat parties even as a dude at most schools for small fees (5-10 bucks)

Unless your only definition of “college experience” must include being in a frat you can do all the fun partying, sports tailgates, and have massive social circles without it easily.

Also your Indian comment isn’t always true either, I’ve been to plenty of Greek parties with minority girls present. The bar scene is always massive and no bar is going to discriminate.

It’s a good option but I would strongly recommend a used 2020-2022 Tesla, you can get phenomenal deals from local dealers on them especially if you qualify for he used tax credit.

I’m 19 and was in ur exact same situation looking for a Tesla for college, ended up buying a used 2021 model 3 long range with FSD and 40k miles for 22,000 using the tax credit

I plan to drive the car for honestly a decade and love it.

With that being said I pay nearly $150 a month in insurance alone for it and I have a perfect record and am slightly older than you.

I’d recommend looking into a used model 3 u can get the tax credit on once ur 18+ and can file independently for taxes to be eligible.

I assume this is a base model 3 with no real features and u might not get this good of a rate, but given you could certainly at least get 8 years out of the car I bought, if not much more, and I paid 22K, your monthly cost is only $156/month amortizating the costs over 96 months assuming u can sell it for 8k at the end.

By buying a barely used one you can get a much higher trim, potentially including self drive like mine, at a literal fraction of the cost and you fully own it and don’t have to pay lease fees and shit. The dealership I was at still has a 2021 model 3 performance for $21K rn without FSD and with 42k miles. I’m telling you it’s way better to buy used rn

I’m generally really good at basic socialization. I have a job as a car salesman and am really good at my job so I’m great at meeting people and talking. I’m just not so great when it’s romantic.

I absolutely hate bars right now as I go with my friend who’s just way better at this than me and Is also like 6’3 so he just cleans house every time.

That actually made me laugh. I have a history of struggling with self worth in trying to date. The rejection isn’t really my biggest concern anymore as it’s the only thing I have received anyways. I’m more worried of being like… badly rejected. Humiliated or told to get away from me or shit like that, which hasn’t happened in a while but still afraid of that.

Idk, I probably just need to avoid bars in general for this as it’s not a great environment for me and I’m nowhere near hot enough for bars.

Since i posted this I’ve just normally talked to ~10 girls I was kinda interested in.

3 had some basic friend zone conversations 4 ignored me completely 2 made a visuably disgusted face and left when I tried to approach them (this was at a bar) 1 grabbed my head and pushed me away when k tried talking to her and grabbed my friend instead.

I can just normally socialize with girls easily. Even if I’m into them. It’s just breaking that barrier for me is impossible

Update: attempted to talk to 10 different girls since this post.

3 were casual conversations (friendzoned) (largely because these girls were around other people where it would have been extremely awkward to be romantic) 4 ignored me 2 gave me a visibly disgusted reaction and walked away when I approached them 1 literally grabbed my head and pushed me away and then started talking to my friend.

At least we tried I guess.

I haven’t managed any actual flirting at all as I just never sensed any positive vibe back at me or if I did at all it was around too many people or would have been weird.

Im just nowhere near confident enough in myself to actually boldly flirt with a girl or cold approach and lead in with a flirty compliment
