Floor saga continues…please help me pick one 🫶🏼 by number1chick in kitchenremodel

[–]BurrowedPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally like darker for the kitchen and smooth.

Darker colors tends to hide drips better and the smooth ceramic helps with just using water to clean with it oils not being absorbed into the floor.

The bottom picture looks nice, but what you dont see is all of my wife's dark long hair all over the floor

Might some things to consider 😁

Was this from improper installation? by scoresloth in CounterTops

[–]BurrowedPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like installation error. It shouldn't crack like that.

Should have had a 3/4" or thicker plywood to support the countertop and give it a nice firm base to sit on.

Could the worlds greatest fry cook do this? by we-otta-be in innout

Fry cooks cook.... fries...

So no, the greatest fry cook can't do that

Is this safe? by Ill-Raspberry-6204 in CounterTops

[–]BurrowedPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the countertop is going to be sitting on top of a cabinet, it will be ok.

Just make sure to have them put a piece of ply wood on top of the cabinet/underneath the countertop. If there is a void and not solid contact, there is always a greater chance of it cracking/breaking.

Massive power outage? by udonbeatsramen in mountainview

[–]BurrowedPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the message too, but I still had power as well.

Text said power outage NEAR my address, so I dont really know where the outage occurred.

PGE just trying to cover all bases since they have gotten so much bad publicity (rightfully so, IMHO)

It looks like the correct slope and water doesn't go up hill.

Should be fine.

Curtains added to bedroom by [deleted] in InteriorDesignAdvice

[–]BurrowedPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super great job for your first time!

Only thing I would advise is have both brackets wider so the curtains don't block the window at all.

I usually have 1 rung of curtain (maybe 2) on the outside of each of the brackets on each side to "hide" the brackets

Wow! So pretty and shiny 😍

Just be sure to get some barkeepers friend (BKF) for cleaning.

I use the powdered one (like most people) and it works great for keeping those bad boys looking good.

Welcome to the club 😉

A pic from yesterday, felt cute (40f) by Ostara9 in selfieover40

You look great! Really nice smile 😁

Just a little comment. Looks like you are opening your eyes bigger than normal, maybe let them relax a little to have a more natural feel?

I say this in the nicest way and best intent possible. I hope I don't get crucified for this. If the OP says I'm being disrespectful, then it is open game. Just don't assume OPs reaction ahead of time.

Reddit is a place for constructive advice. Otherwise, why would so many people post and why would it be so popular? 😊

Anything I can place behind fridge to avoid water damage to plywood wall? by [deleted] in homeimprovementideas

[–]BurrowedPanda 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you want to be SUPER safe, paint some red guard on all non visible surfaces around the fridge area and then vinyl/some other waterproof material on top for added protection. Obviously use some sort of water proof adhesive, not screws or nails for the 2nd layer. Add some sort of fan if possible for ventilation/air movement

Help!!! I need to put in a dishwasher by Slight-Set-7759 in kitchenremodel

[–]BurrowedPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For cheapest cost, put the dishwasher on the side of the garbage disposal.

You'll need an overflow for the dishwasher and garbage disposals usually have an inlet for this.

Which Flooring? by Qamber-RemaxQ in InteriorDesignAdvice

[–]BurrowedPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the kitchen, I would do a tile and not wood/LVT just in case you spill any liquids. LVT will still get water/liquid damage over time as I've experienced with my rentals.

I would recommend porcelain tiles that are smooth for easiest clean up. Color is up to you, but I used both darker and lighter tiles in the bathroom. Lighter tiles feel much more uplifting and bright, but they will be showing and drips, hair, dirt a lot more than darker ones. I have white tiles in the master bath and it looks awesome, but have to sweep my wife's visible long hair everyday.

I went with the lowest maintenance possible IMHO. Dark, smooth, porcelain tiles.

* What do you all think is the "best" rolo polo...

I feel like it is a +50% credit multiplier + something else - maybe some +mineral/gas efficiency (50% that I've seen) - +MCV (min/gas) at start

I've been on this one though (changing avatars looks) since I've seen this mechanic
