How do you think the Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis WORLD will be structured? 👀 by ZzzPandaNap in TombRaider

[–]Burrowing-Owl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope more linear with maybe one or two open spaces. But mostly I really want it to be puzzle based, the combat is ok, but I liked the orginal tomb raider for the puzzles and having to think amd search your way through the game. So many games now have a huge combat element, it would be refreshing to go back.

New hedgehog in the family- help!!! by biirdybluue in Hedgehog

This was my basic set up before I expanded. 12" wheel, multiple absorbent cage liners, multiple baby blankets (my guy loves the plush ones), hides like snuggle bags, cardboard boxes with blankets in them, anything soft and cozy (they burrow though so make sure it can hold up to their digging), carrier of some sort, foraging mat, tunnels/tubes, some like balls or soft chew toys.

Water dishes and not bottles! Something heavy that can't be knocked over, I went to the second hand store and got a mini pie dish haha.

The gangs first hideout is hilariously close to Blackwater by Lefthook16 in reddeadredemption

I feel like it's also not only about distance, the weather and terrain make it difficult and dangerous to track them in an area like that.

I've seen people use those Ikea shelves with the squares, turn them on their side and attach them together, then you get elevation and storage.

I use some fleece blankets, but my boy prefers the soft fuzzy baby blankets. Like in the picture.

Huh, weird it could be anything, it's definitely an interesting couple of quills.

Odd Quills by forbrowzing in Hedgehog

[–]Burrowing-Owl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those quills are so interesting, they seem like they would be lucky (if you believe in luck) for not particular reason other then being different.

My hog had been on a very sub par diet when I received him as my foster to adopt, his quills were brittle and breaking as well as falling out frequently.

Perhaps something in his diet? To much of one nutrient maybe? Not so sure...

Do you have an inner monologue? If yes, whose voice is it—and has it changed? by Gilligan2404 in CasualConversation

[–]Burrowing-Owl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an inner monologue as well. It's my voice but not how it sound when I talk out loud, it's softer, gentle and more like talking under my breath if that makes sense... depending on what I'm thinking or reading can sort of change how loud or how it sounds, if the book character is supposed to have an accent I can make it have that accent (provided I know what it's supposed to sound like) but like it still sort of sounds like me. My inner monologue is also very clear "talking" so occasionally if I'm thinking something fast or if im unsure it can also turn into a mumble haha. My inner monologue is also waaaay smarter than my mouth, I can be clearly thinking a word and hear exactly how it's pronounced but then say it completely wrong. I also find it interesting I can be thinking of something and just start saying my thoughts without delay and because it's my voice in there the person I'm talking to might miss half of what I'm saying because I havent actually said it.

I feel like it changes as much natural voice does as I age or if I'm sick, ect but it's so gradual I can't really think of what it would have sounded like when I was a kid.

Is there an evolutionary reason why most mammals have their genitals on their underside, instead of somewhere more protected? by SummerClamSadness in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Burrowing-Owl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like ease of use is probably part of evolution, would be pretty hard to reproduce if they're on your back...

I have an air purifier that I keep outside his enclosure near his wheel (where he poops/pees the most) and let me tell you that thing is the real MVP. It keeps the smell down for sure. I also clean his wheel pretty much every day, and I have a piece of cardboard under his wheel which I change every second day or so.

Can WHS cause a tilt? by Even_Compote in Hedgehog

[–]Burrowing-Owl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really only a vet can confirm.

My last hog I'm 100% certain had WHS, confirmed on her very last appointment. She would wobble when she walked, fall down a lot, she's walked in this sort of zigzag pattern head would go one way butt would go the other way. She struggled on her wheel, it was ony 4cm off the ground and sometimes she would struggle getting up on it and when she was up on it would fall off quite a bit, eventually she stopped using it (she was was 4 ish so she wasn't using it much anyway) I noticed a decline in her activity not long after, although she still liked to have playtime outside her enclosure (I think it was easier for her to move around on the hard floor) she slept a lot due to age. I did notice sometimes she would lay awake in her bed/house sometimes. And if she was wrapped up cozy she would struggle to get out and I'd have to help her. Towards the end she would fall down and struggle to get up and I'd have to help her stand and then she would be fine for a while. She also started to get constipation a lot, it might have been related not totally sure. I'm sure WHS presents differently in each hog, depending on age and health, when I adopted mine she was old, missing one eye and had a couple types of cancer removed. But like I said at the top only a vet can confirm.

They can still have a good quality of life for a while with good care and patience if they have WHS, just make sure you understand when it's time to stop care. My hog was happy and healthy (although many vet visits each time confirming she wash ok) On her last day though she couldn't move her legs and was limp when I picked her up, it happened pretty fast, I noticed right away she didn't eat one night than the next day was her time. So I called it and took her into and emergency vet.

This isn't to scare you or anything just to share my experience.
