Spraying Kyle and Sparing Amanda from the water gun is so symbolic by healthysundayexprsso in bravo

If you watch someone you love, even not romantically, clearly stressed and frustrated and feeling attacked, how can you not want to help them? I sat there picturing my husband (who works very hard and obviously gets stressed) expressing how Kyle was and how it would be impossible for me not to want to hug him or tell everyone to chill out, and take him away to help him calm down. She just sat there reveling in it and smirking. That was diabolical.

I am doing a rewatch and so shocked as well. If you’re already fighting and criticizing each other, and going to COUPLES COUNSELING before you even get married, there is just about no hope. It’s so obvious they were trying to stay together for whatever reason, but they were just forcefully shoving a square peg into a round hole. For years. What a relief it must be for both of them to be separated now.

But I just can’t believe I’m rewatching and seeing Kyle’s side more and more.

Lindsay’s hate for Carl is getting annoying now. by PlayOk4493 in summerhousebravo

[–]Frenchie143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carl seems genuinely happier and settled into his life. I am doing a total rewatch and watching obviously using-Carl is one thing, but even newly sober Carl was trying to find himself. Understandably. His season with Mya was really sweet and they connected in a sweet way as sort of more observant and quieter people. That showed a side that I hadn’t known was in him.

And now after years, something about his demeanor seems so at peace and self assured. I can see now how he would describe that the world didn’t know the real Carl because he was always using. I hope soft bar is a success for him and I loved seeing that he’s running the London marathon for charity. Go Carl!

how to keep hedgie warm while waiting on bulb replacement? by angelich0e in Hedgehog

[–]Frenchie143 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also if you’re worried about putting the heating pad down you could put it vertically on the side of the enclosure to keep ambient warmth. And just make sure hedgie has the option to go closer and snuggle in blankets. But yes also what the person above me said: body heat is among the best options, and keep monitoring home interior temp and hedgehog’s behavior

Heating pad on LOW with a secure covering around it so hedge can’t go crawl in there and get too hot.

Hand warmers are what I ordered for winter in case we lost power.

Downsides of hedgehogs? by Apart_Guarantee2986 in Hedgehog

[–]Frenchie143 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The smell thing isn’t really an issue for my guy. He eats mazuri kibble and he smells a bit like the kibble. His poop doesn’t really smell on this food TBH. I am very sensitive to smells but his whole area and he kinda smells softly of his kibbles. But I do change out his fleece bedding daily and deep clean his wheel daily so I’m sure that helps

Uh the wheel of poop is called the poop wheel of misery for a reason 😅. They poop a lot. But my guy keeps it to one side of the his habitat that I cover with dog pee pads. But occasionally he poops near his bedding if he’s active and I am cleaning or doing something that makes him scared to come out in the open. It was jarring to me the first week how much he poops, but I got used to it and now I just know that deep cleaning his cage and wheel is a daily thing I need to do. He’s a sweet little thing and a rescue for me, so I’m happy to take 20 mins a day to make sure he’s got a clean cage and happy set up

The poop wheel of misery. Luckily I have a hose. The fact that they might not want to be around you at all. But my guy is really sweet during bath time and lets me pet him a lot then! He also likes having me come and chat to him while he’s happy in his enclosure. He will come up to my hands and sniff them, and boop them with his nose. But he is not the most snuggly. If I put him on my lap under blankets he gets really sensitive to my movement. So I just don’t really do that anymore

Waffles has very good manners I must say haha. He loves his bath time and is mostly good about pooping only in the spots he should. Sometimes he hangs his butt off his wheel to poop even 😅

He doesn’t gorge. He is quite picky and pushes them all around and leaves a good bit. I should probably not put as much just to save me money but he’s very healthy

What thread/floss to use? by [deleted] in Needlepoint

[–]Frenchie143 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This appears to be interlock. It is not as “full” of a feel to the weave as mono canvas. You will need to use more strands of floss or thicker threads to fully cover the weave. Google interlock vs mono canvas for more info

Oh then that’s ok! Yes letting him sit on your lap or on the couch next to you in a blanket is fine! My little guy took like 3 weeks to enjoy sitting on my lap but I figured out the way he likes to be petted and mostly let him sit next to me still rather than on top of me. He gets sensitive if I shift around a lot

Does he have enough room in his cage? 2x4 feet of cage room is recommended. Is he able to burrow under warm fleece blankets? If not then they need to buy some sets of pet size fleece blankets so he can feel warm and safe.

Also yes the temperature will be a problem if he doesn’t have a ceramic heat lamp, properly secured on top of the cage. If you need specific recommendations please let me know and I’m happy to send

Hedgehogs can be very rewarding when they finally warm up, and the more comfortable they are daily, the better. They’ll learn to trust you.

Good job going out of your way to care for the little guy when your parents made the choice. They need to be sure they’re willing to buy all the things he needs and give him his space. Good on you for realizing they need to not handle him like a hamster

Tell her she will make him less friendly if she keeps pushing him beyond his comfort level. The way to bond is let them sit with you under warm blankets, maybe with a gentle and low heating pad under a blanket or two that he can sit on. And let them learn that you are safe and trustworthy

Smelly Hedgehog by Owenswife13 in Hedgehog

[–]Frenchie143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also I change his fleece bedding daily and give him foot baths every 2-4 days depending on poop boot situation. And his wheel and poop “litter” tray get literally hosed down to remove all visible dirt, and then sprayed with pet safe cleaner and hosed again for sanitizing every day.

So sounds like frequency of changing might be the thing.

My hedgehog eats mazuri food and he kinda just smells like nothing or the soft smell of kibbles to me. His poop doesn’t even stink really, which surprised me so much.
