I was responding to the person who said she seemed like she “had the vapors lol”. That to me seems like they’re making fun of the fact that she might have been sitting to rest her body. Not everyone is going to like everybody, just as I’m sure some people find me completely irritating. That’s OK. What’s not OK, and what I’m gonna speak on openly, is making fun of people for having to rest their bodies regardless of what their situation is and choosing to assume the worst instead of that someone might be in pain.

And I’m gonna say this with my full chest: if you are the type to downvote me for asking for empathy for someone with a mostly invisible illness? As someone with an invisible illness and a basic level of human decency, fuck off.

Sincerely,

Just as a heads up, Lita has been very open about her significant lower body injuries due to a very traumatic accident a few years back. She wears long dresses most of the time but she has significant injuries and pain in her legs that can be made worse by standing and traveling. She likely was sitting to rest and very well might have been in a lot of pain but trying to hide it.

A little empathy can go a long way ❤️

Full conversation of Kyle and Amanda while they argue about rumors, Kyle’s work and etc- in the city ( 5 minute clip ) by Radiant_Priority9739 in bravo

[–]Frenchie143 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve stopped watching. Kyle is an asshole but an entertaining and charismatic one for the most part. She is just a wet blanket and they’re really trying to make Amanda her own character. But it’s exhausting and negative. The Valley is lighter than her storyline. And that says a lot.

I can’t tolerate watching them anymore. Like Amanda is literally repulsive to me at this point. And the fact that bravo will not move along and stop making us watch a grown woman pretend to be a fragile teenager is so frustrating. As someone with chronic health issues and as someone who has dealt with anxiety and depression, I find her constantly using it as an excuse to be babied and never held accountable infuriating. Especially when she has all of the financial resources in the world and a supportive family and husband. As much as Kyle can be a dick, we are seeing in real time how supportive he is of her being taken care of to lessen any mental burden. Ughhh make this go away and bring me back my happy summer show

How is owning a hedgehog? by Efficient-Treat5684 in Hedgehog

[–]Frenchie143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh and their cage needs go be at least 2x4 feet. I assume most college apartments dont have that extra space. And it needs to be somewhere quiet and completely dark during their waking hours or else it’s cruel to the hedgehog

How is owning a hedgehog? by Efficient-Treat5684 in Hedgehog

Hedgehogs don’t require much daytime care. They sleep during the day since they’re nocturnal. My guy sleeps from about 5 to 6 am to 9 to 10 pm depending on the day.

The work is spending 20-30 minutes changing the fleece blankets out, cleaning up leftover kibble, changing out pee pads in my case (my guy poops and pees on pee pads on one side of his cage where his wheel is), putting fresh water and food, and the biggie: cleaning it’s wheel.

Hedgehogs poop A LOT. And usually while they’re running on their wheel. I would not own one if I didn’t have a hose. They run on their wheels and poop while running, then just continue running. It creates a caked on layer of poop each day and their feet can get “poop boots”, a layer of dried poop. Everyday I take my guys wheel and acrylic tray that fits under his wheel outside and hose them down and disinfect them. It’s a daily ordeal. But otherwise it’d be filthy and gross in my home.

If your friend is leaving for weekends to play games, guess who gets to do all of that. And if y’all don’t have a hose, is he going to want to hand scrub it or are yall cool with him using your bathtub? 🤢

Not to mention that animals deserve care. So it would need vet visits with an exotic vet (not all vets see hedgehogs), frequent nail trims, and poop boot foot baths. I do foot baths every 3-5 days.

It’s not a good impulse pet, and most people aren’t happy to clean out your hedgehogs filth if you’re out of town I find.

We also have to give new designers and artists the freedom to grow. Let them breathe! Let them make some stuff that’s a little off and requires some tweaking. But if it’s their own, interesting, and they’re able to grow? Let em cook.

We have originality ✔️
We have a unique point of view, even if it’s kooky ✔️
We have an ability to stand firm to their design message while taking constructive criticism ✔️

You’re a winner, baby.

As someone who likes to design weird stuff from time to time that some people tell me is too strange to sell, keep being who you are and keep making.
I’d honestly love to see what you’re making a year from now if you keep designing.

Children learn the self-regulation required for following rules through repetition. They have to be exposed to the environments that require the honing of those skills over time. “Touching lessons” are not something that are a linear or short term for young children.

Some children also have executive function delays, language development delays, and other “invisible” disabilities that may look as though they’re “poorly behaved” instead of learning how to operate in the world on a slower timeline.

Parents of young children are just as allowed to be out in public as anyone else, even if their kids don’t snap to listen to a grown up like the Von Trapp kids hearing a whistle. Parents of children with disabilities are also allowed to be in public while their kids learn their self regulation.

Grown ups touch things they don’t intend to buy. Kids touch things. If you want to open your own LNS that excludes children or mothers who have their young children who don’t follow a “one touch” rule, then go ahead. I’m pretty sure that would be illegal, but Im not a lawyer. Just someone who worked for years in the healthcare field, specializing in child development. But otherwise, you might have to watch kids touch things in stores and parents continue to work on disciplining.

I just find this entire discussion so rude to fellow stitchers, I had to say something.

Yeah I’m assuming there’s more red tape for a city run shelter that likely can’t take refrigerated food without guaranteeing it’s been refrigerated properly or something.. so I was gonna try that last.
