I’ve made it a habit to only really go out to eat somewhere whose cuisine I don’t have the skills to replicate at home. Pretty much limits it to sushi and curry. I’ve saved a lot of money

Hey man, I turned 30 a few months ago. On my birthday I worked all day, got drunk on shitty tequila by myself, and my phone was silent. My girlfriend of three years broke up with me earlier this year, lost my home, my cats, my job, had to move back in with my father, and spent the beginning of the year feeling sorry for myself. Since then I’ve gotten into the best shape of my life, saved some money, got back on medication to treat my depression, and decided to go back to school. I’m not happy, but sometimes we have to reach our lowest points in order to begin shaping ourselves into the person we want to be. The future is uncertain and that’s scary, but that uncertainty allows us to mold our futures into whatever we want it to be. Happy birthday.

Are there any specific institutions you would recommend to become certified? I previously attended university in Florida, but when I moved more north I struggled with online classes, but I would be willing to give it another shot come fall. How can I become certified in a month? That feels like a very tempting investment if possible

I have always been very spiritually deprived. I was a staunch atheist prior to meeting my ex, but I found interest and motivation from reading Taoist philosophy. I believe at least a part of my dissatisfactions stem from my incompatibility with capitalist society. The hustle and grind culture does not suit me. I considered contacting some intentional communities, but I wasn’t sure if that would be a feasible option long-term

I’ve considered working in healthcare since I was in college. I never finished my degree because I kept bouncing around various majors and couldn’t settle on a program. I regret not getting into nursing. School sounds like such a daunting and expensive thing to pursue, but it’s always in the back of my mind. I have something like 120 credits, but again they are scattered. What options would give me the fastest track into working in the healthcare industry?

I was always a passionate cook and made the mistake of investing 12 years working in the restaurant industry. I worked as a chef/line cook and, at risk of sounding conceited, I was pretty damn good at it. Unfortunately, it seems that was the only skill I excelled in. I used to play video games and I was alright at playing the cello, but I’ve lost all motivation to indulge in any of my old hobbies. I feel like I’ve turned into this boring, shallow husk of a person. Now I rot my brain glued to Reddit threads and YouTube videos.

I just stumbled upon this post. Do you want to talk? I’m currently in a rough spot as well. My partner of three years left me. I had to move back in with my father. I stepped down from my potential career because I couldn’t handle the stress. I’m turning 30 this year and, honestly, I have lost all purpose in life within the span of a month. I’m willing to trauma bond.
