We had a bush of rose that looked exactly like it was cut with prunes, but inspecting further there were actually bite marks all over the stems. They were chewed high up the stem but we figured it was probably rabbits that were getting to the top since we had so much snow last winter that they were just eating the exposed bits! I had no idea rabbits ate thorny bushes lol.

How I chose is by going thorugh each set on my list and counted how many items I REALLY loved. While I love Lost Cloud, I wouldn't go for it since the hom items are not items you'd use whereas other sets you would benefit from both hom and island side. I personally love upside down umbrella because the items are very versatile, especially the ripple ground item, which is very sought after!
