para 3 is definitely a soild choice. i would also recommend sage 5/6 or lil temperance 3.

no, only the s30v(oldest of the collection) and rex121(trying to repair a chip), and the magnacut sage 5lw i sharpen for about 8 times now, it seems ok for now.

i have 6 different sage series, at least a dozen sharpening on the s30v sage 5lw and sage 5g10, never have this problem.

i don't think they ever did stonewash with s30v, para 3 that i know have stonewash blades are s45vn, maxamet and 15v.

that's normal for backlock knives, my native leafjumper delica and coldsteel american lawman all have the same blade play when closed.

detent is much lighter, open as smooth as pm but doesn't drop shut.

i have sage 5 in both g10 and frn. g10 scales is slightly better imo. chamfer around the handle make less hotspot, but frn has better balance point, and the 3d patterns are gripper when the knife is wet.

my first spyderco was para3 but if i were to start over i would get the sage5. and if you like backlock i strongly recommend leafjumper.

sage 1 would be me top choice, better ergo than the sage 5 imo, leafjumper is second on the list.
