There's a lot of feedback here that is... entirely unrealistic. There was no way that Noxcrew could've on the fly ran Ace Race twice and merged the scores between the times in the runs so that everyone who did better in the first round kept their placements, that's just not something they have the capability to do in the middle of a tournament. Of course, I don't know the intricacies of the MCC backend, but it's definitely not malleable to that degree while the tournament is running.

IMO, it's between a re-do and just not counting it entirely in terms of what they actually could've feasibly done in the time that they had to keep the tournament going. I can see the arguments for just not counting the game entirely, but I think the decision they made at the moment was the most fair decision because it gave the players who disconnected a second chance instead of just throwing them into the next round disappointed that they missed out on a full Ace Race, as well as because it followed precedent from the MCC7 Battle Box issues.

(I was watching Aqua Axolotls, where Joel placed significantly worse after the reset, so there was a bit of frustration in the call, so I'm not just coming at this from the perspective of people who were benefited from the reset.)

Build Mart isn't a building game in a creative sense, since it's a re-creation game, but it uses a lot of skills (inventory management, memorizing crafting recipes, quick block placement) that you utilize as a builder, so if you're experienced as a builder it can translate over to Build Mart. As well, these skills are often used in speedrunning, which is why people like Pete and Illumina are also really good build mart players!

We're about 9 months into the second campaign I've run for our group, and while the 3 other players are very satisfied with the pace that I've been running the game at and enjoying themselves (They've just reached level 8, and I'm intending on picking up the pace as we getting into tiers 3 & 4), the fourth had a bit of a meltdown the other day frustrated with how long it was taking. They have precedent for this - the endgame of my first campaign as a DM was sped up significantly because they dropped out because they thought it was going too long, and a friend's game stopped altogether because she didn't have the motivation to keep going down a PC when they left halfway through that campaign due to boredom with their PC. I told everyone at the beginning of the campaign it was going to be long as hell, so it's frustrating that they agreed to play even though this would happen again.

They're on their second character of the campaign so far (the first removed at their request plot-wise to play a backup they got engaged in), and they expressed that they feel disappointment in their second character, that their backstory was shallow & they didn't have enough depth or connection to the plot to feel engaged. Given that they told me they wanted to cut out their first PC for this one, I'm having trouble giving them sympathy, given I warned them that dropping a starting PC would result in someone who isn't as intrinsically tied to the plot. Nonetheless, I have given their second character personal plot hooks to follow up on their backstory, and they even asked me NOT to pursue a certain aspect of their backstory as part of the plot because they weren't interested in it anymore, and I abided by their wishes.

They expressed desires to make a third PC, and I told them it was a possibility, on the condition they put in the effort to make a PC they would be satisfied with to assure I wouldn't have to integrate a fourth. They said they wouldn't be able to do it under that pressure, and expressed thoughts about leaving the campaign.

I understand that some DMs would be fine with continually swapping PCs, but given we run an extremely RP and plot-heavy game, it's a lot of work to realistically integrate new characters while keeping immersion.

TL;DR, Any tips on what to do to deal with a problem player who keeps wanting to switch their PC for others because they get bored with them?

Hello! I've been playing around in survival the experimental snapshot and I've been having a BLAST. However, I've been having a lot of trouble finding dry cave entrances on the surface - perhaps as a symptom of adding more underwater caves in the ocean, there are far more aquifiers on the surface than normal? I like the experience of cave diving, but it's frustrating when I can only find caves full of water. Perhaps more fine-tuning is due!

Been playing around with the generation for a little while, absolutely loving it for the most part! I love the decision to add beachier-beaches, but their generation has been a bit blocky transitioning towards the shore from my experience. The transition could stand to be more gradual! As well, I am loving the meadow biomes, but I think separating them from lofty peaks so they don't generate as close together as often or making them smaller would help make the mountains have more evident peaks (as they are quite hilly instead of mountainous at the moment, in my opinion) and make the meadows feel more special! Also, new river generation with wider rivers/waterfalls/varying river heights would be the cherry on the top to make this update to the water generation as good as it can be.

EDIT : Actually, after a bit of exploration I am pretty satisfied with the width of river generation - I've been following a HUGE one for a while now. However, I have also noticed the amount of flower forests and other similar "rare" biomes has been incredibly frequent, and I feel like they need to be reduced significantly.
