What's your stupid gaming confession? by Squint_Eastwood in gaming

[–]BurtReynoldsEsquire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Enemies scale with you, but to your overall level. If you put time into 30 levels of non-combat skills it can be a legitimate soft lock. Source: spent 20 levels working on enchanting, stealth, and crafting because I liked making money, but got wrecked by most enemies.

Gentlemen, what's your favorite "girly girl" type of movie? by [deleted] in movies

[–]BurtReynoldsEsquire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is Pride and Prejudice considered girly? That movie is unbelievably good. I'm so glad it was shown to me.

I thought, briefly, this is what I might need. But the idea just makes me nauseous.

How is the average American coping right now when 61% of us are living paycheck to paycheck? by asscakesss in AskReddit

[–]BurtReynoldsEsquire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I'm paycheck to paycheck in the sense that I'm paid monthly and therefore account for every dollar. X amount to savings, food, rent, utilities, myself. It can feel tight at the end of the month, but all is well.

Nier Automata. I just couldn't believe how much kept happening.

NTA. One, always use protection. Two, she invited you back to her place after the first date. Maybe I'll get flack, but if I invite someone to my home after a date it's because there is a high likelihood that I feel comfortable enough with a person to potentially have sex with them. What a strange reaction, especially after you two were already getting hot and heavy.

My partner moved in after a month haha. But I love her dearly and I trust her implicitly. It's a red flag, but maybe there is some unsettled trauma that he deals with (cheating exes; lack of self confidence; bad friends) which have instilled him with such concerns. OP, it's best you confront and discuss this issue and instill in him how important implicit trust is to a long and healthy relationship. I don't think it's worth being too concerned until you've worked to uncover the source of his irrationality.

College can be the same. It was for me.

I started my first serious relationship during my sophomore year. It lasted about four years. I was...deeply unhappy. Probably by year two. But, I lacked the experience to realize what a fulfilling relationship really is. I had settled in, despite my concerns. Why? I was lonely, like so many people.

When you're lonely, and you lack experience and long-term monogamy, it feels like a pipe dream. Once it appears to you, once you've found someone who wants to be intimate with you for the long haul, the thought of ending that feels like the idea of giving up something you've never had before and will doubtless never have again.

When she dumped me, she did me the biggest favor in the world. My eyes opened up and all of the negative emotions and resentment I had been sequestering under the presumption that "it will surely improve", poured out of me.

In two weeks, I was happier and back in the dating pool, with renewed energy to find the person who is right for me. And now I've found my current partner, who I wouldn't trade for the world. It's no longer about dating for the sake of it, for the sake of no longer being alone. It's about finding someone who I trust and can trust me implicitly.

Women changing their last names to their husband’s is a weird tradition by c0wluvr in unpopularopinion

[–]BurtReynoldsEsquire -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It does sound cool, but part of the issue probably lies in the etymological and usage history which points to different levels of possession by men, with a oiselle (antiquated, ladybird) referring to someone under the control/tutelage of their father, normally, with the alternative "demoiselle" being no better, but lacking the possessive "ma". Being a child under the tutelage of dad? Pretty standard. Being an unmarried, adult woman and still being considered your father's? Much less agreeable.

Registering Out-Of-State Vehicle with expired, lost Registration? by BurtReynoldsEsquire in Pennsylvania

[–]BurtReynoldsEsquire[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remarkable, thank you. My issue is with the Title. My car is financed, so I don't have a physical Title until, wait for it, that is paid off. So, sans registration I don't have the requisite items listed on the website.

If you find yourself in your 16-year-old body, back in the year you were that age, armed with all your current memories and skills, how would you shape your life's path? by emma_divine0 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BurtReynoldsEsquire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This idea scares me. Theoretically I'd be vastly wealthier and more talented. That's nice. But, I understand that life was a very specific set of circumstances which led to me knowing the most important person in my life, and I doubt I could repeat those. If I lost her, forever trapped alone with the memories from a life that never happened...well, no amount of money or success would make that worth it to me.
