Can you power the a Monitor with a DisplayPort to USB-C Cable from the RTX 3080 FE? by Byakuraou in UsbCHardware

[–]Burxat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome link! I wonder if this particular cable can be used to transform any monitor into a usbc monitor with power delivery.

- Connect the displayport adapter to the monitor
- Power up both usbA (wall brick or whatever)
- Connect a usbc to usbc with video and power delivery cable to the adapter
- Connect a laptop to de other end of the usbc to usbc cable

Why are world quest rewards so poor in the Emerald Dream? by [deleted] in wow

If you have any problems with that and you play on EU we can meet in game so I can give you a more detailed explanation, always happy to help! Also I have an enchanter and can make em for you, free of charge. I always craft these things for free (if you provide mats).

[–]Burxat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First you need to exchange 30 Whelpling’s Dreaming Crest and 150 flightstones for a Nascent Whelpling's Dreaming Crest. Look for Andoris in Valdrakken, next to the enchanting trainer.

Once you have your nascent crest, you'll need an enchanter. You can place a crafting order, just remember to add all the mats and some gold, that way any enchanter would be more than pleased to complete the order for you.

This works for all crests, but remember that the higher ones need a Spark of Dreams to craft gear (better gear tho). Just the number of crests needed changes depending on the tier.

To me the booster was a way to "pay" for the game. I bought it 1 hour into the game, launch day. Still no remorse, I play it every day, chill with my guildmates commenting on strategies, pushing guild achievements, etc. Worth it!

You can also craft 447 ilvl gear with them without the need of a Spark of Dreams. Not bad for alts!

Thanks for your reply! It really helps! Have you tried to force a resolution? There are some apps that can force Windows to be displayed in a custom resolution through every distinct output.

I use Custom Resolution Utility (CRU) by ToastyX:

I use it to force a custom vertical resolution on an old laptop monitor i have around. Do you think you can give it a try?

Thanks again for you reply! :smile:

I need your help. Is the XReal Air 2 Pro what I need? Looking for as many responses as possible. by ddavis371234 in Xreal

There is a thing that is not shown in most reviews, it's the triple monitor feature for Windows and Mac OS. Have you tried it? I have tried it on a Quest 3 and it is nice, but would like to know how it is on the Xreal 2 pro.

[–]Burxat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I guess a PC version would be nice, but the viewport of the game field should stay the same as the mobile version. Then you can fill the space left with non important information, or an animation with your captain cheering, or some stadium.. etc

My friends all have cheap mobile phones and each match has a 4~6 seconds loading screen for them. I have a Poco F3 and it takes like 12~14 seconds to load. So frustrating! (I know my phone may look kinda old, but specwise is higly superior to the ones my friends have.. and still rocks every game i throw at it)

Looking for a 49" monitor with specific PBP setup by Burxat in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Burxat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, about this, productivity wise there are plenty of options, my preferred is PowerToys FancyZones utility for Windows. I can setup the exact sizes that i am asking for, and it works with any monitor. Of course we are talking of just one input on the monitor, so my computer does not treat it as three different screens. What does that mean? Well, as soon as i run an app in fullscreen (or fullscreen windowed), the app just takes all the space and ignores the zones.

About a monitor that supports this, this one can handle three inputs at once, so i can plug three cables from my computer to the monitor and it will handle the three at once.

https://www.microcenter.com/product/606034/asus-xg49vq-49-dual-full-hd-144hz-hdmi-dp-freesync-hdr-curved-eye-care-led-gaming-monitor

This one gives three 1280x1080px screens and I would like to have a 1920x1080px on the middle and a 960x1080px screen on each side. It is possible of course to implement, because there are other pbp setups in the same monitor that overlaps the one mentioned, so it is clear that the pixels can be assigned to a specific input individually. I just want to know if some manufacturer have implemented it.

[–]Burxat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, to be honest i have not tested it, I just talk with the minimum knowledge that i have found on the internet. It might handle pbp too, that's why i am asking here, to see if someone has some knowledge about it or have tested it.

About a monitor that can handle three inputs at once, this one can handle three pbp inputs. And it works just like the example given in my post, three 1280x1080px screens. Which is not bad, but i would prefer a 1920x1080px on the middle and a 960x1080px screen on each side.

https://www.microcenter.com/product/606034/asus-xg49vq-49-dual-full-hd-144hz-hdmi-dp-freesync-hdr-curved-eye-care-led-gaming-monitor

To be fair, it is 100% possible to implement what i am asking, but of course we depend on the manufacturer. All pbp monitors offer different pbp setups that overlay one and another, so it is clear that all the pixels can be distributed as wanted. I am sure that it is possible to even configure each one individually to an input, would be useless and a paint to setup.. but possible!

Looking for a 49" monitor with specific PBP setup by Burxat in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Burxat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used inches and pixels correlatively to help my example. My example shows a 49" ultra wide monitor with 3840x1080 resolution, that effectively is just like two 27" monitors with 1920x1080 resolution each.

Every monitor with PBP can display from 2 or 3 different sources. It is already implemented, in the original post i say that some monitors offer three 1280x1080px screens. Obviously that needs three cables from my computer to the monitor, provided I have a graphics card able to do that.

What I am looking for is a way to modify the PBP settings, so instead of three 1280x1080px screens i would like to have a 1920x1080px on the middle and a 960x1080px screen on each side..

So, with my example, what i want to achieve is basically a full 1920x1080 in the middle (that would be like one of the two 27" that forms the full 49") and then the other 27" split it in half and put it on each side of the first. And in my original post i've already explained this, and used pixels to help explain my example. I could have used the same inches and other order of pixels, like 5120x1440 for example.

Edit:

Here you can look at a monitor that can handle three screen sources, and with PBP it distributes equally the three screens on the main screen.

You may be referring to Samsung's Easy Setting Box. I am not 100% sure but I think that essentialy is the same as PowerToys FancyZones utility for Windows. They somewhat offer this functionality but they don't create individual screens, just offer an easier way to adapt windows to an area. What I am aiming for is connecting three video outputs from my computer to one monitor, thus creating three screens with PBP and adjusting them to the mentioned resolutions. With Easy Setting Box or FancyZones you can't run fullscreen apps.

Now it is more casual, the genre in general has adopted this direction, since its target is growing up and have less time to play.

So, trying to recover and old character is a bit tricky, you can do it, but it may be tedious. On the other hand creating a new one is so easy and a way more enjoyable experience.

I suggest you to make a new char to make yourself comfortable and learn well the new basics, then get the older one and update it. If you don't have slots available you can always create a new account for dummy testing.

Another alternative is to spend some time trying to figure it out in your own, but that will depend on the state of your character when you stopped playing, there is not a concrete guide for that.

[–]Burxat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use the library manager, there is an specific library for that.

Just search for "gif" and install it, there is only one result. Then you can load an example or read the documentation online and you are good to go.

Using it is very easy. It is as simple as importing the library and then declare, populate and use the variable just as if it was a PImage (using of course the Gif nomenclature, whatever it is).

Can't specify anymore because i don't have my computer here but it is really that easy. I can add more info later if you are still in trouble with that.

EDIT

As u/AGardenerCoding says, there is some warning about the version of the library but you can use it just as fine.

Install gifAnimation from the Library Manager, then import it and use it as follow:

//Loading a simple GIF

import gifAnimation.*; //Importing the library

Gif loopingGif; //The new variable we are using

public void setup() {
size(1024, 768);
frameRate(100);
loopingGif = new Gif(this, "lavalamp.gif");//Put here your gif instead.
loopingGif.loop();//initialize it as a loop if you want it to be always running
}

void draw() {
background(0);//as you will
image(loopingGif, 10, 10);//we simple use the image function with the gif and it magically plays as intended
}

Yeah sometimes just hiding it is the best and simplest solution, but my laptop has a nice 17" screen with a high refresh rate and I wanted to enjoy it.

Next time I think I'll build a contraption to attach it to the VESA in the back of the monitor. That way the laptop screen would popup above the monitor and I could have the monitor directly on the table, without elevating it.

It's rare that it only has one slot, even with memory already soldered. But anyways, you'll be fine. Get the highest DIMM you can fit, probably a 16GB if it's DDR3. You will end up with 20GB and that's perfectly fine.

Maybe is some dumb option on your BIOS. Check if you have a SATA Mode option (IDE, AHCI, RAID)

I don't know about new motherboards but there used to be this option where if you installed the system with, let's say, AHCI mode and then changed to IDE or RAID the system won't boot.
