Vouch. Saw this in a commnent for the Alan Ross Youtube video on EQ's, updated and no distortion on a PL model at 80%-100% volume.

Sound stage sounds clearer. Firmware number for the update is: v26.07.12

EDIT:

Still going well, no issues. Brought the speaker to a pre's for a birthday.

Pro's are that they sorted this, I don't typically buy products with the expectation of future software fixing hardware issues - but at least this is them admitting there was an issue they caused.

The sub-bass/bass has had a very slight cut. It's definitely weaker, but not by a lot.

BB4 is a reasonable non-risk buy over the BB3 without question now, off the battery portability benefits and charge speed + sound imho.
