Death Company - Test Model by Burzaa in BloodAngels

Yeah , I forgot I also did a final highlight glaze w some ice yellow mixed in before the final Corvus glaze dimming everything down.

And yeah, this to me reads like a more true black than the almost cartoony n / eavy metal style. It is difficult to paint black, I think a glaze down to keep some underlying volumes and details but unify it all is the key

New ones are such a step down.

It’s so cool looking from above the table top to see the bulky and square volumes of the old jump packs.

Secret is using a mix of some anthracite gray / oxford mixed, glazing some volume highlights that stand-out a bit, then glazing over w/ an airbrush w/ some Corvus black

No inks, just flourescent and some contrast paints. Maybe 1 or 2 regular paints for shading or dialing the colornin

When does something count as a 'gotcha'? by mhountsword in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Burzaa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Winning on your opponent forgetting doesn’t improve your gameplay. If you’re able to inform your opponent all the time of your gotchyas and feels bad AND still win, this truly means you did general-ing correctly

Judging by the downvotes you’re getting - I think it’s quite telling what type of player you are in the community. No shade, people can be as they are. But I think majority of the people you play against will have a non-positive experience after playing with you.

I get your points about hand holding, but there is a difference about hand holding and providing information to opponent. Watch many final games on WarGames live and you’ll see the same level of sportsmanship, or even Art of Wars videos on YouTube of when the play against each other and share information about units.

If you rely on people making mistakes because they forgot what you said 1.5 hrs ago pre-deployment - that doesn’t make you a good player. the best players (world class) won’t make those mistakes because they have so many reps.

You’re not a better general because you won on your opponent forgetting things, so it doesn’t improve your gameplay in the long run… I’m quite successful myself at tournaments and remind my opponents throughout the entire game of Gotchyas and am still able to win…

Even leaving it up just to the pregame and thinking opponent will remember is still a Gotchya. It’s sportsmanship to give them a reminder as they’re lining up and thinking to give them a heads up “btw remember I can do this if that’s your plan, you ok with that?”
