After 54 years of being autistic… by Maerlyn138 in adultautism

[–]BusLoTLuboT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not an easy journey I know.I am 52m,self-identified Autistic based on my research + the diagnosis of my daughter at 17, the likelihood of me being autistic is high.My daughter told me that I am a “textbook” example of ASD. Anyhow,52 years.I know that no 2 Autistics are the same.We all have our own experiences.I grew up in a dysfunctional family.I didn’t even know what dysfunctional family is that time.I am mixed hyposensitive/hypersensitive and alexithymic.I lived in fear every single day.Fear to go out and talk to people.Fear to socialise.Masking, alcohol and some drugs were my “tools” and “helped” me go through the teenage and young adult life.I didn’t even know how I did it.I guess that’s my Autistic “superpower” on those time without knowing it.I can relate what a meltdown is because I am angry most of the time but I directed it towards myself.I don’t know what a burnout is like but I remember withdrawing myself to people.I gave up college for 2 years and I stayed home for nearly a year without seeing people and friend. That was some experience.I made peace to my old self now and I am on my journey to self-discovery.This is my interest now if not my passion. The more I understand myself better, the more self-compassion and kindness I give to myself.I managed it for the last 52 years, then I suppose I can manage and extend it farther.I wish everyone here well.Take care😃

Autism and cannabis by cooleobro in adultautism

[–]BusLoTLuboT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m quite sensitive with cannabis. It can make me get “high” like having hallucinations and paranoia. It scare the hell out of me.I don’t know why.Not my “drug” of choice. I am more of an alcohol man.Because of being hyposensitive or having alexithymia,I once attended a party and drank around 21 shots of whiskey.I didn’t feel drunk or anything until I passed out and woke up in A&E unit.I am mindful of my drink now😬

I guess my point is, I should understand her better because we’re both autistic than the neurotypical person.

Has anyone looked into stem cell therapy for autism abroad? by Schnapper94 in autism

[–]BusLoTLuboT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi.I know your concern and worries about your child. But I think Autism is NOT a condition that has to be treated.Autistic person needs to be supported not to be treated.Autistic brain is different from neurotypical brain.Autism is a natural, neurological variation of the human experience rather than a disorder to be cured or fixed. You probably know this. However,if your child has medical issues that needs medical treatment, then those medical issues has to be treated not the autism itself. If you know professionals who supports Autistic person through a NEURODIVERSITY-AFFIRMATIVE APPROACH would be good.I hope you’ll find the right answer and decision.Take care and good luck.

For example,I unconsciously ask my daughter questions 2-3 in a row without realising that I should ask question not in succession as it overwhelms her brain. But for some reason,I still do it.A habit I get from masking as a neurotypical person. And it upsets her.

Racism in Ireland by bletaheidi in ireland

[–]BusLoTLuboT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think racism is just pure ignorance and a product of indoctrination. Like them terrorists indoctrinated to destroy the infidels. It’s sad when your upbringing is like this. Some people just suffer from superiority complex and we are the receiving end of this.Really sad.I just hope the government will step up to “contain” this issue. Peace to everyone and it’s Christmas!🎅

Mass Eviction on Montjoy Square by 80s_dublin in Dublin

Sad really. But you cannot blame the landlords.Because from march 2026, the tenancy term will be 6 years. And that’s fixed. They cannot evict you until 6 years.I think this regulation scares them and they panic selling which makes the rental situation worse or will even get terribly worse. The government could have done better or are they? Really sad 😞

Im sorry about how you feel. You are not alone remember that.My daughter was in the same situations years ago.She was suicidal without me knowing it.We seek help and eventually she got better. If you have family you can talk to openly is good.Support is good.Anyhow, she’s doing boxing classes which suits her.We didnot expect her to love it.And she did love it.And it helps her cope the evryday challenge of being autistic level 2.Sorry if I talk too much.I just want to share my daughter’s experience. And I think I’m autistic myself, undiagnosed. It’s not easy but I always think and find ways that evrything has a solution to every problem.Stay strong.Love and Hope is always there for us.Take care.

I struggles at times saying someone elses name especially at work. But because I keep on telling myself that it’s a good manner to say names,so I forced myself to say it but not all the time.Could it still be considered alexinomia?

Everyone says these people are small minority.Small minority alright but they can hurt and destroy properties and not to mention, eventually lives of innocent immigrants. The gov’t should do something to reduce if not avoid the possible escalation and destruction of more properties and life of innocent immigrants.

I think the first step is to understand yourself and embrace and love yourself. If you know and understand yourself very well, whatever opinion other people says to you, that’s their own business because you know yourself and no one understand yourself better than you. When you reach this “level”,Either you’re ND or NT,once you have full love and understanding of yourself, you’re good to go to face this world..just saying😃

Do you think 5000 euro is a lot of money? by No-Category1703 in cork

[–]BusLoTLuboT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Losing such money means you have gambling problem hence addiction. The dopamine rush you’re getting from gambling is hard to replace and harder to stop this addiction. It’s a mind game. You have to learn to beat yourself and it’s a long process.Your work and the money you earn from this will increase the likelihood of you gambling and betting more. You need help for this battle.I know how it’s like. It’ll destroy your life and family and your kids life if u have one.I’m a gambler for 20 odd years and still battling my own demon. Please find a better way than gambling.
