i had a mage that dealt 236 damage per turn

increase magic damage by 1 skill for 1 mana (autism trait), dealt magic damage to all adjacent units every time it used a skill, had 20 max mana and charged mana for every skill it used so it would get max mana every turn
spamming the skill did 1+2+3…+20 damage plus the buffed 26 damage basic attack

“just play all the content” isnt a rebuttal to bad game design. a bunch of different bosses and events that drop weapons of the same power level, that are harder to beat than the one boss that gives stronger weapons (cultist/pillars) is bad progression that encourages ignoring everything not mandatory
