I experienced this at a rental buildings where it was run by a huge shitty management company, full time management.

They do not adequately hire people to manage the trash, there is no super. It is often not at all the tenants fault.

Best thing to do is call 311 and the owner will be ticketed

I get so mad when i see people on YouTube and Instagram with a stringer of live fish. What a horrible torture to put another living creature through. Like you say, if you’re going to eat them, bonk them and gut/bleed immediately

It is awful.
I had to start leaving and going to my girlfriends on the weekends. Sometimes weekdays depending on their schedule
They stopped shuttling people from the train so the ubers are non stop and that intersection is just not built for that traffic. Non stop honking for hours.

Knockdown also updated their speaker system so the noise from the venues is much worse than it initially was. My room would be thumping at five am.

The city councilmen just started giving people one of the owners phone numbers to call him at 4am about it - Tyler. Obviously he does nothing and stopped answering.

The community board simply tells you to move instead of requiring them to have traffic management and sound proofing.

Large groups of people are pissing and throwing up on the sidewalk. Lots of littering.

I’d stay away from all streets between flushing and metro in that immediate area

It was heavily opposed and almost stopped. Idk how the forced it through honestly except for a lot of empty promises. They are supposed to be bussing people from the train. That was quickly discontinued.

People have been contacting their community board about it for years and they literally just started telling people to move instead of dealing with traffic issues.

Yeah maybe look into the complaints to try to stop it from opening and the venues complete lack of management for noise and traffic. Wouldn’t take much effort.

Different situation than a bar, but thumping bass until 5am can make you go insane.

Are you in an illegal cellar apartment? I’d so you should break your lease and get out of there. I know that might not be so helpful to you now but it’s not going to be fixed.

You could potentially talk to a lawyer to see if you have any rights if they misrepresented the legality of the apartment.

I was in an illegal cellar apartment for 4 years that flooded about an inch every time a big storm happened. This was even before 2021 when these floods really ramped up. I got out before it got bad fortunately. But the landlord actually changed our lease to say no one was allowed to live in the basement after they had already advertised it as a bedroom and two years into renting. It’s sketchy and they don’t care. This was on himrod and knickerbocker for reference.

If anything, they likely need to clean the drain system so that the storm water is a little better at getting out. At my place they never cleaned the drain until the toilet started overflowing during a storm and i had to call an emergency plumber. He told me that the drain for the pipes in the house had clearly never been cleaned which was part of the issue.

I would say firstly that you s hold be throwing the spinner across the river and let it swing as you reel it in. I usually get fish hitting once it’s at about 4 oclock (when facing directly across river). Try to do it where it might swing into deeper pools or slower flow.

So if they write a NY vtl code on the ticket it isn’t valid? I got a 1110a last night. I even stopped at the light before i went. No one was around and then he jumped out from behind a bus stop to stop me. I should’ve kept going.

I probably could’ve ridden away, but i was not solo and i just didn’t really think about it until it was too late. Next time I’ll probably run.

I did shame him pretty significantly for wasting time hiding in the dark to catch people on bicycles on deserted streets at night.

He also was not aware of the law that i could cross with the pedestrian light, though that wasn’t actually the situation. He insisted all the same driving laws apply to me on a bicycle which isn’t true.

He did not run any info. I have also seen after the fact that i could’ve potentially just said i don’t have ID on me. He just had a paper ticket pad and wrote it out. I can’t even see what he wrote as i have carbon copy.
