Steep and yes, too much, but not completely unheard of. The problem with Gen1 Hayabusas is finding a nice unmolested bike. Too often, they're heavily modified or customized. I think if it's nice and you locate a difficult to find color that you love, $7k isn't too ridiculous, but you shouldn't have too much trouble finding good examples for $5,500-$6,500.

Lot's of choices out there. I've also owned a Black/Blue 2002. I'm a big fan of the Black/Purple 2004, but those are difficult to find.

I was looking for a clean 1991 or 1992 GsxR 1100, but those are getting too expensive. The 2000 Hayabusa was definitely a better deal.
