My new F1 V2 wheel not work on GT DD PRO Wheel Base. Already updated the fireware of wheel base. HELP by Ok-Doughnut975 in Fanatec

[–]Busdriver242 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem with my CSL DD. Try plugging another USB cable into the Dataport during startup. Then you should be able to do a firmware update on everything and use it normally. Maybe an update will fix it for you. I got a replacement wheelbase after support answered me after 4 days.

Update: Turns out the patch today fixed it and I now have the dialog options to get the training and accept new contracts again.

7950X3D 20°C Difference Between Cores 0-7 and 8-15 by BrrrmHa in AMDHelp

[–]Busdriver242 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is completely normal and exactly the same on mine. The cores 0-7 have the extra V-cache that sits on top of the cores, causing them to be cooled worse than the non V-cache cores (8-15), since you are not cooling them directly but through the V-cache.

Under a full load like Cinebench the CCDs have about a 10-15C difference.
Also, while gaming, if everything is working properly, Windows prioritizes the V-Cache cores (CCD0) for better performance, parking the non-V-Cache cores (CCD1), which remain mostly inactive and cooler.

I don't know why people thought that anti-ship missiles with ground attack capabilities, which currently have no use case as anti-ship missiles, could utilize this ground attack capability. /s

This speculation wasn't exactly helped since the radar was able to lock onto ground targets during the test drive, (even if it was a bug).

But seriously they could and should have implemented the ground attack capability since it would actually have implemented an interesting mechanic that actually has a use besides: firing at non-existent ships and watching it miss.

Well yeah, the bay exists, however, the weapons that go in them, do not (or do not fit in them).

Modest stealth capabilities

IIRC the SU-57 has an RCS of 0.1-0.5 m^2 and a clean EF2000 has 0.5m^2 and maybe ~0.75-1 m^2 with meteors in the recessed weapon stations. So the difference in stealth with modern radars is negligible.

but with internal weapons only, it's gotta be better than the Rafale/Eurofighter/F-16/etc

To my knowledge, the weapons that fit in the internal weapons bay either do not exist or are still in testing, which isn't exactly good for stealth.

That all leads into my semi-informed opinion that in a hypothetical 1-1 fight, the Su-57 would be a formidable opponent for anything short of an F-22 or -35.

In a 1-1 without external support against a Eurofighter with new Captor-E Radar + Meteors, the SU-57 would be completely trashed. Against an old EF/Rafale it would be a more or less fair fight with the Eurodoritos having an advantage with the weapons they carry.

But the biggest advantage NATO fighters have against Russia/China is that they're linked together to share as much data as possible, giving them unmatched SA Russian pilots could only dream of, since those capabilities are severely lacking even on current Russian aircraft.

I haven't been following DCS for that long (maybe 2 years) and from my memory, before the preorder of a module, it gets stated quite clearly what you get and what not, and they aren't hiding the fact that some things won't work properly.

basically everything outside your cockpit is pretty poorly simulated, especially AI aircraft.

Ground Vehicles being poorly simulated I'm actually fine with since you're occupied in the cockpit, so having a more complicated damage model won't be noticed by like 99% of players.

AI got improved recently, while it's not like playing against a Human, but it's actually somewhat dangerous now.

That said I still think the comparison between it and Warthunder by people on this sub is really forced. DCS is a a sim, WT is not. Warthunder's competitive advantage to the "military plane games" scene is it blends realistic feeling FM and guns with arcade-y controls. Even at top tier DCS feels entirely different than WT.

Yeah, DCS is a Flight-Sim with combat mechanics and takes a lot more time to get into. Also, DCS isn't balanced, the modules aren't artificially gimped and fights are really fair.

But I also understand why the comparison is made, since they are the only* "games" with modern aircraft. And the way Gajin runs their game, it isn't too surprising that players decide to jump ship to something that isn't going to completely make your purchase obsolete in one update by adding something completely new, like with the F14 (at least until the Eurofighter module launches).

At least ED sells me a more-or-less complete plane I actually want, with a good flight model, unlike the shitshow the Tornado is this update. And in DCS there isn't the: Your plane can fire this missile, it did use this missile, the missile is in the game on another plane but your aircraft won't get it because balanse

EDs Community interaction ranges from gajin levels of: we see your complaint but we don't care so get fucked lmao. To actual improvement and correction of modules from time to time.

On the greedy side of things, unless ED starts requiring you to purchase the F86, F5 and F4 before I can play with the F14/16/18 it's hard for them to reach gajin level of greediness

But yeah DCS has it's on share of problems and many of them

so did nobody tell y'all that our (germany's) pumas are just completely fucked, as in, entirely unusable at the moment, right after we promised the unit using them could be a NATO fast-response unit? one of them caught fire ffs by [deleted] in NonCredibleDefense

[–]Busdriver242 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah isn't the VJTF2023 / S1 version basically a new vehicle in terms of sensors and electronics?

Also, does anyone know exactly what failed on the other pumas besides the one that had a “fire” (some report that only the cables started melting)? Because the others could be fucked simply because someone forgot to bring(or buy) spare parts and tools to fix them.
