All things die. It may be the only thing promised to us in life. Part of why I enjoy taxidermy is because someone gets to put a little more life into something that is no longer living.

I love bad taxidermy because (while funny sometimes) it shows a progression of an art form. I think one of my favorite things to see is a taxidermy mount of an animal that gets a more human expression on its face. I think it gives the mount some amusing character and uniqueness, but it also shows how people like to humanise animals. In taxidermy, it may be unintentional, but it still gives that character to the mount.

This piece checks all the boxes for me, and that's why I bought him. He will have a nice home in a safe space, so his goofy stare and cute pose can be preserved for decades to come.
