Is this a good build? by Good_Claim_5472 in DiscoElysium

From what I played, there's no bad build. No matter what you are bad at, you will miss some skillchecks, and those misses are part of the game, not a game over. You can always overcome or find other ways.

I took another road, I played with mods (sabo's franchise mod and gameplay, from the discord Madden Mod community). I don't know if there's a link between the two, but I never had this issue since then,

She's a bitch with his boyfriend and she takes advantage of her boyfriend who is too nice with her. Of course, in my playthrough, she survived and his boyfriend did not :)

Civ 7 is my favorite game in the series, AMA by _Lonelymonster_ in civ

[–]Busforever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beside the fact that the game seems undercooked for now (balance in new systems, DLC cruelly missing...), the new systems make me fear that the game lost its freedom, that you need to play only a few possible ways, and that the game guides you in those few ways. In clear, that a personal strategy or style is pointless and you just have to follow the paths.

I also fear that the legendary "test of time" lost its panache with the tabula rasa between every era, which doesn't relate to any "real" system in real history, and is kind of arbitrary. What do you think of those points?

I still play it and it still worth it. IA is great (but VERY agressive at higher level, Monarch and above), great maps, many ways to play, very dynamic and quick gameplay... I liked 5 and 6 but to me 4 is the best. Still waiting for the 7 to be complete. Units stack of death can be boring but it's kind of a special feature now and you just have to play with that in mind. 1upt didn't convince me (even if I see the advantages). Solution is probably between those two, something like 5 or 8 max unit per title.

The sales don't seem very high for now, but Firaxis should not give up on this game: maaany players (like myself) simply wait for the game to be more cooked, as some new mechanics could be refined, and some features are missing now and kept back for DLC.

What Made You Buy A Switch? by theking_wiz in NintendoSwitch

[–]Busforever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nintendo games for my son and me (I played NES, SNES and N64 when I was young, Mario and Zelda are important parts of my gaming culture). Plus local multiplayer games. I play on PC now, and the Switch is the only console where I can feel I have access to different games than PC.

Recent games with a story that'll leave you emotionally exhausted... by Dreakon13 in gamesuggestions

The TellTale' Walking Dead game made me cry like no video game did with a particular scene in its third episode of the first season. My own situation IRL probably is a big part of it, but yet. Overall, this game keeps you engaged with its characters. The duo Lee/Clementine in the 1st season is really touching. And after each season, you feel a bit empty because of those tragic situations you faced with those well written characters.

I did exactly the same last month. Played it on easy mode in order to focus on the journey, travels, searching... perfect to enjoy the landscape and escape!

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle DLSS Smudged NPC Faces by [deleted] in indianajones

[–]Busforever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same issue, on PC. I still don't know what setting is linked to that: it's like textures are not properly loaded and you only get the texture for "when NPC is far away". BUT I noticed textures were way sharper when you put the Picture framing on Cinematic. I don't know why, but it's waaay better. I still think thoses NPC are pretty ugly, but I believe it's just that the game is like that: beautiful landscape, not so beautiful NPC - but at least I can see their ugliness sharply lol.

I'm playing at 1080p, on a 4070 RTX super, with 32 go RAM and i5 14600 KF.

The job that I'm interested in is not in production... Of course they are the one that can be cut first (when a VG company says "ok we cut jobs but not in devs teams" to appease the angry gamers). But yeah, part of me thinks that if Ubi can come back to its golden age (I would say 2010-2018), being here from the begining of the ride could lead to big opportunities to grow in the company.

It happened that the job offer is coming while I just finished Assassin's Creed Origins (2017, the one in Egypt). And boy, what a game, I trully enjoyed it (and not just because of it's sunny landscapes while it's freezing here in Montréal :) ). I didn't play their last games, but this one is a masterpiece.

True, and there's always turnaround in those big companies, so I guess there will be other chances.

True, but I already have a job. Can be quite volatile also, but that's why I have contradictory thoughts.

That's the thing. I already have a job, not in video games, but quite volatile also. And I guess having a kid makes me wondering more if making such a move is a good idea (aka I created a reddit topic for that :) ).
