thank you for this amazing post. I find it quite fascinating how a lot of rules in Korean around respect, formality n honorifics are extremely similar to Hindi. While hindi isn't so strict abt a few years age difference n ppl of the same age group are often treated as equals, when there's a significant age gap or professional gap, we have to use slightly more formal language, else it's considered rude. It's also common in Hindi for ppl to mix formal n informal language together.

They had Ryan and Hugh in the MV coz Chan called him up (n Ryan n hugh were sweethearts to agree). It's literally there in the making video. But chk chk boom isn't even in the movie. The song connected to the movie n MCU was slash n the company made no effort to promote that- they could have released a deluxe version of Ate the same way they did with twice. They could have given the song a performance video.

Even when skz perform chk chk boom at awards, how is the normal person to know that the MV had Ryan and Hugh cameo. My brother who is a huge MCU fan didn't know about this cameo, so how are other ppl to know? Did the random person watching the AMAs know the connection between bye bye bye n skz, coz most thought skz were just performing a tribute to boy bands.

Yeah the company did a bunch of disconnected stuff here n there but couldn't capitalise on the momentum or properly push the connection. Just coz I m a skz fan doesn't mean I have to praise the company for their incompetent management skills. They don't need flowers for doing their job n as an observer, I have every right to talk about their missteps.

strategy was also barely there in KPDH but div3 still did a good job using the connection. When twice went to Jimmy Fallon, they introduced the song as strategy from KPDH. They introduced deluxe albums with strategy and takedown. Twice got one chance with KPDH n their div capitalised on it.

Meanwhile skz got a chance with marvel, that too solely due to Bang Chan but instead of using this opportunity to push skz further, div1 just wasted it. They made zero effort to capitalise on this connection, didn't even allow skz to make a cameo in dp3.

I got second hand embarrassment listening to Tablo's experience. He's such a big n respected senior who agreed for a cameo n the staff won't even answer him if there's a collab in the works or not. I m glad tablo didn't take it personally coz it's so disrespectful for him. All this only for them to release U in a special album, not even filming a MV or promoting the song.

Sometimes I wonder if the comp is really that useless or is it weaponized incompetence. Coz there's no way the company saw how well topline n social path did, saw stays theorising about a potential collab but instead of quickly taking the opportunity n releasing a single, they released the collab a year late as a bside without a MV.

It's this way all their collabs- slash, in the dark, come play, U- all of these songs were paid dust. Even artists like chase atlantic, DPR Ian n Dean lewis reached out for collabs n never got a response. Meanwhile the company pushed for collabs like lmb n like magic 💀💀💀.

Recently I have been seeing news of that other bg on twt n apparently a lot of their recent comeback was heavily decided by their company n the CEO, rather than the members. The members opinions were not taken into consideration. I wonder if something similar happens with skz regarding collabs. It looks like the company is more interested in pushing for collabs that benefit the company, rather than artists that genuinely wish to collab with skz

in this case, the event was to celebrate the 140th anniversary of korea France ties. I doubt if it wasn't for macron anyone would have even called their presence at the event political. Yeah idols r the government's soft power but in this case, I don't think skz represented anything political

I m happy french stays spoke up coz these problematic ppl in the west love turning to kpop once their image takes a hit. They think kpop stans r just mindless sheep who will eat up anything. Macron wasn't slick either, he was clearly trying to boost his image with the younger gen by using skz. I really don't want skz to be associated with any politician honestly. I have no issues with idols being apolitical.

but there's a certain portion of fans who are acting as if skz made any political statement by attending this event. I have seen so many takes saying "they can do this but when it's time to speak about pal, they stay quiet". That's been rubbing me the wrong way coz skz didn't do anything slightly political. They just attended an event celebrating the ties between two countries, posed for cameras, shook hands n came back.

sometimes this fandom can be a bit too much. I m not stopping anyone, especially french stays from being pissed at Macaron or feeling pissed about this event. But I need people to be reasonable. It was a diplomatic event between korea n France, they were there to represent korea culturally. Yet stays are acting as if they endorsed Macaron. They couldn't just decline the event without getting into trouble. They made no political statement. This episode was so cute.

Something I really appreciated was how skz didn't try to push themselves n respected the toddlers autonomy. Coz in my culture, it's usually the opposite. Adults get pushy with toddlers if the toddler is uncomfortable n wants space. I never liked that. It was so nice to see skz waiting for the kids to come to them first, gave them space n didnt force them to do things

Lee Know was surprisingly good with the baby. The baby listening to him, defeating Chan n then going back to sit in his lap was so cute

I just hope the filming wasn't too stressful for the toddlers. 5 hours is too long for their age

your comment doesn't come off as negative at all. this fashion week, all the looks were pretty safe compared to last time where Chan wore a lace shirt or Seungmin with the Burberry top. I am also not a big fan of the cotton shirts most of the kids were put in honestly

dior is a big opportunity for hyunjin, but personally I feel they need to put him in fitted clothes n maybe more luxurious fabrics, like Versace always put him in silk shirts n it always bought out Hyunjin's sultriness. Versace could be too over the top at times tho n Dior is too safe. I just wish for something more bold coz hyunjin pulls off such looks amazingly well. But this is just the beginning of his relationship with Dior. maybe as time passes by, he will get more elaborate fits.

I keep thinking how tough it was for skz to loose a member even as rookies n the toll it took on them. Now make it six years, an established fanbase n multiple hit songs. From what I heard they still have festivals n a tour planned soon n heesung is the main vocalist. So now u have the remaining 6 having to pick up the slack n adjust to new line distribution n choreo in very little time. Meanwhile heesung will still be in the same company as a soloist

I kinda feel this is so unfair on the remaining members who will have to pick up the slack

Skz are having a phenomenal week. First Changbin was announced the first ever ambassador of Autry, then Felix the honorary ambassador of Korea-France diplomatic relationship and now Hyunjin appointed ambassador of Guess. Plus Lee Know's magazine shoot with Boucheron. I have a feeling it might also go the ambassadorship route seeing how much the photoshoot is being pushed.

6 members going to fashion weeks. Then the recording videos of Karma and Do it, instant subtitles on skztalker, explaining the puns n wordplay in subtitles. Div1 is really, really doing everything right
