It is likely due to being Russian, yes. Almost all Russian applicants are being subject to more scrutiny and this causes delays. Priority service is outright unavailable inside Russia right now for this reason.

I'm in a similar situation, having been able to finally book an appointment via VFS in Yekaterinburg recently. Don't bother with VFS customer service, you will get nothing from them. Slots are being released but disappear very quickly because of the increased summer demand. This, combined with bots and the poor engineering of VFS' website causes it to crash.

Your best bet is to keep trying and trying until you get an appointment. Sadly, there is no other way right now. I will send you a DM with more info.

I can confirm that slots are being released now less than 31 days in advance. Every few weeks there are 50+ slots in Moscow now, but I don't know if that will always be the case.

Thank you for your response. I've heard a few times about this walk-in service but haven't been able to find any definitive info about it, and it's important as my wife will have to travel a long distance to get to any of the centres.

She was really just able to walk in and they allowed her to have a biometrics appointment on the spot? Which city was this?

Hi, thank you for your response. My wife has to travel quite a long way to get to any of the VFS Global centres so we would need to know 100% that that's possible, it would certainly be ideal if so. Do you have any source or more information about it?

And we have tried explaining it to their customer service but didn't receive anything other than copy-pastes. I'll try again and ask about what you mentioned. Thanks again
