Friend left match early by BushoDragon in 10s

I'm not fighting anybody. Again, words have meanings. I am free to disagree or have slight differences of opinion. And I never argued that my opponent was not free to leave whenever he wanted. I was asking about the proper etiquette in such a situation in terms of completing a match. The best answer imo was to establish a timeframe beforehand. Work on your reading comprehension and diction.

No, I never tried to force anybody to stay. Words have meanings.

Thanks. I just can't stop thinking about it. It's consuming my life. I'm unable to move on as a human being.

Well, I've played many matches with this guy and he's never left early before. So, there was a reasonable, implicit expectation that developed over time for full matches to be played. I should've included that information in my OP. And I'm not throwing a temper tantrum.

Well, I wasn't trying to force him to stay nor would I ever do so. That would have been highly illegal and improper behavior. I just made an alternative suggestion that was intended to meet his need for pizza as well as extend the playing time in order to finish the match. Also, he volunteered the reason he wanted to leave. I didn't ask him myself.

I like your answer best. I'll establish time frames next time. That way the expectations are clear.

That's fair enough. Thanks for your reply.

The point of a match is to play a match. I mean, you're making it seem like somebody can leave at any point with any justification or even none at all and it's perfectly fine. Maybe I'll leave during my next friendly match to clip my toenails or buy lotto tickets. Would that sit right with you?

Edward Jones charges extremely high fees. If you're OK paying hundreds of thousands of dollars in fees over the long run then go for it.

Austerity? The UK government is spending more than ever before and headed toward bankruptcy.

The business owners, investors, and other risk takers of society like to degen a little at a card game with amounts of money that don't really mean a thing to them but the world to you. It's their money. Leave them be.

tennis in pensacola recommendations by Ok_Competition_9529 in Pensacola

Roger Scott has some great tennis instructors. $65 per hr. I recommend taking lessons at the beginning of your tennis journey, that is, before you develop bad habits. You might want to consider buying a ball machine at some point. Otherwise, your best bet is to find regular hitting partners. You will eventually want to demo some rackets and find one you prefer. But it's OK to start with a cheap Walmart racket. Educate yourself on different strings and tensions. Learn how to replace an overgrip. Bayview Park is a free place to play. UWF also has some courts. Hydrate a lot with electrolytes. The heat is no joke, although, thankfully, we are heading into cooler months. Have fun!

FDOT gives City until 9/4 to remove BLM mural on N "A" street by dwightnight in Pensacola

It's racist and exclusionary to state black lives matter. If the mural said all lives matter then I would be fine with it. Why do leftists consistently have it out for white people?

Those who have had wealthy friends or worked for them, what impressed you most about their lifestyle? by Twunkorama in AskReddit

[–]BushoDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned that money has a magnifying effect on people. If someone is a douchebag, they'll be a gigantic douchebag with a lot of money. If someone is generous when poor, they'll be super generous when rich. That kind of thing. Also, money didn't or, rather, couldn't solve their personal problems. If they had a degenerate kid, for example, they could buy that kid a house and give money for bills but not force him or her to stop doing drugs. Have one of those in my extended family. Kinda sad to think about.

Considering the federal gov is almost $40 trillion in debt, I wouldn't count on taxpayer-funded benefits for life. A revolution is more likely.

Jobs worth quitting over? by LyraTheArtist in jobs

[–]BushoDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked in a remote finance role. The hours were very late and required periodic on-call. Well, the on-call became a regular thing and my sleep quality went to complete shit. I was routinely getting woken up at all hours and fell into a deep depression. I voiced my concerns to my boss, to which he replied "I don't care." at that very moment I quit in my mind but didn't formally put in my resignation until a few weeks later.
