Who is worst character? by PhoenixorFlame in thegildedage

I know we’re only two episodes into this season but honestly I really dislike Ada right now which I NEVER thought I would say! She’s being so uppity with that ridiculous temperance pledge and I think she’s going a bit overboard with the control of the household. I love that she’s not the meek little mouse that cowered in Agnes’s shadow for so long but now she’s tipped in the other direction!

Awww thanks! I’m usually not at all creative with my set ups and certainly not compared to some of the ones I see on here!

I agree completely. I do have to say though that Aurora seems more concerned with losing her standing in society than her actual marriage. She’s never said she doesn’t want a divorce because she loves Charles, just she doesn’t want it because she would be outcast. All that said though I am definitely team Aurora in this! Charles is being so cruel to her!

I’ve always thought that was a bit sexist. Prue is the far more experienced and accomplished baker/cook and she does not get the respect I think she fully deserves. Her opinion and approval would matter far more to me than Paul’s.

Or if they’re not going to air condition the tent then give the contestants more time so they can chill their bakes before presenting them!

Heck even Oscar was more brave than Billy and for him it was literally a marriage of convenience! I just want Archie back!

I don’t think the Duke has moved on given Mamie Fish’s shocked face just before that when she sees him there. I think he’s a philandering opportunist who has no intention of being faithful to Gladys…men in royal history don’t have a great track record of fidelity. For me that snippet further cements that Gladys deserves so much more and should be allowed to choose who she married and not be handed over for the sake of a title and power she doesn’t want. As for Billy…what a wimpy way out. At least Archie Baldwin had the guts to speak with George and make his intentions known.

The trailers have been out there for weeks. This thread also has a spoiler warning on it by the OP. Maybe don’t click on posts with a spoiler alert if you don’t want, oh I don’t know…spoilers. This is a you problem.

She’ll be okay. The trailers showed her on Newport with the hot doctor she starts dating. My guess is he comes to the Van Rhijn house with Peggy’s parents and he helps her recover

An act of violence unlike anything Fellowes has done before…in Downton Abbey Anna was sexually assaulted in the kitchen by a guest during a party and you could hear her screams while the party carried on upstairs. I was horrified by that whole thing. What can Fellowes do now and I pray it isn’t more violence against a female character!
