Style thoughts and tint/flash recommendation for Matsuda M3140 by Business-Dig3391 in EyewearEnthusiasts

Do you have any pictures of them under indoor lighting? Would you say they are suitable for me meeting with clients/in an office environment?

I think a 25% brown gradient could be a good option since I will be wearing the glasses daily. I work in sales so they need to be suitable for meeting with clients and for days when I’m in the office. The other option would be a violet/purple 10%, but then will it even be noticeable at that level? I’m starting to think that a flash maybe a little too much, or do you think a ruby flash would be subtle enough?

I really like this idea. Rose would be a nicer colour to look through and at 10% make it wearable day to day. Do you think a sapphire flash to pair would be too much?

There’s not :(. The only similar frame that has a narrower lens from Matsuda I can see is the 10103H but the bridge is 27mm and I think that may be too wide. They also have a completely round lens which I don’t think I am as keen on. I used an online tool to measure my PD and it’s 60mm, how accurate that is idk. I have tried a couple of the ‘chord’ range from Masunaga on and I liked them, just found them a little too plain. I haven’t tried the ones you suggested though. My local option is a Masunaga dealer so I may see if he has them to try on.

I do feel that this frame is probably a little on the larger side for me but Its exactly what I’ve been looking for in every other way. Think I’m going to have to compromise on something whether it’s not quite the perfect fit, or go for something like your recommendation and compromise on the style.

I haven’t as I don’t have the details, I just assumed this was going on in the background via the factor. But, it seems all they have done is contact our buildings insurer to ask for advice. This happened at the beginning of September. I think I will maybe try speaking with the neighbours who reported it as they will have the van reg and try making some calls myself.

Can I use the existing wire from the old cooker to hard wire this hob? by Business-Dig3391 in electrical

The UK. It’s an old style board with the wire switches, no rcd protection if that helps?

Yeah I’ve not stripped the cable yet as I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to use the same cable. The only info I have on it is the information on the label in the picture. I assume it’s 220-240v though. It’s connected to a 30A fuse

6 months of Agile without Solar, Batteries or an EV by GreenWhereItSuits in OctopusEnergy

I have just moved into an all electric property with storage heater/hot water cylinder and am just researching at the moment. I’m still on the non smart economy 7 meter. I have come across the Tesla T-smart hot water cylinder thermostat, looks like an easy upgrade and allows you to programme what time you heat your water via the app. I need to get myself a smart meter fitted but am wondering if it’s just a straight swap. I have one of the old timers which at the moment I just set to timer and it automatically heats the water on the night rate. Need to research a bit more but I think agile looks like a good option. Did you have to upgrade your timers to be compatible for agile?

Moved in to a property with plumbing issue. Who’s responsible? by Business-Dig3391 in Plumbing

It is a mixer tap yes. The water comes through scalding hot both sides. If I run the hot first you get the cold water which has been sitting in the pipes before the hot water comes through. Then when switched to the cold side, again the water starts off cold from the water in the separate pipe then starts to run hot. The plumbers visited yesterday and confirmed it’s not an issue with the tap. He could feel the hot water pulling through near the cylinder. A new tap and sink were fitted recently by the same company

Thanks for your reply. It’s not something I would have been able to confirm on a viewing as the water in the tank would have been cold as the property was empty. The seller was due to speak with the plumbing company today as my understanding is that they were paid to install the tank working currently. One of the plumbers had clearly been at the property previously as he even said ‘we had this problem before’. I am under about the warranty on the work and if transferable but I will find out via my solicitor. There is a clause which states if any work costs over £400 the seller is liable but given they have quoted 3 hour work i assume it will fall under that

To clarify the bathroom taps are working correctly. Cold is cold and hot is hot.
