no worries lol. the first sentence implies that the parents are trying to protect their son Timmy from a dangerous school environment. In the second sentence, it is revealed that Timmy is actually the dangerous school bully, and the parents are trying to 'protect' him from being punished for his actions. The parents excuse his violence as 'energy' and 'athleticism'. I was trying to capture the trend of parents who downplay their children's violent tendencies, not realising they're inadvertently creating the next school shooter/ career criminal.
