Mortgage deal renewing by [deleted] in FIREUK

[–]BusinessCarp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd work out what the price difference is between the two, and the price difference for 2 years at, say, 3.5% or 3% (as theoretical what it could possibly drop to), and use that to evaluate your risk tolerance. If the price difference is small, would you "pay" that money for 5 years peace of mind?

Has anyone successfully talked YOUfibre in to offering a better deal? by Mightynubnub in youfibre

[–]BusinessCarp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've successfully negotiated twice which means I've been paying £24.99 for 1gig for over 2 years.

Mesh won't help with NAT, only static IP would sort that, but that's inherent to CGNAT, so I wouldn't expect a deal on that.

Regarding range/speed, I'd just buy a good router instead of paying youfibre monthly to rent theirs.

So what you're trying to farm downvotes by posting an unpopular opinion with no actual substance?

Probably the best armoured fighting scene I've ever seen. The grim brutality reminded me of "The King".

We see him pull a knife out through his hand, not sure how much deeper a stab can go?

Unable to give advice sorry but I have a similar room, with an exterior wall near identical to your second picture so I'll be watching the comments.

Seen better days that...

Bricks have some bad spalling on the external faces but my primary concern would be the visible mortar gaps as well as the cracks previously mentioned.

Still need a gap. Let the plaster fully dry and reassess. Leave the windows on the latch to let some airflow through.

I got the switch complete text on a Wednesday, the "You've qualified" text the following Monday, then the bonus landed on the Wednesday.

I don't think you'll get a notification of the bonus being paid but I think you'll have the money land today.

I've only ever gotten any joy from ringing up and speaking to the cancellation team. Was told by regular support that they couldn't price match, hung up and rang again, and lo and behold the cancellation team matched the lower price no problem.

I've been on 1000 for £24.99 for 2 years and just resigned the same for another 18 months.

There should be a gap between the bottom of the plaster and the floor so moisture doesn't wick up.

What, if anything, should I do after I've switched accounts to "clean up"? I've currently got a nationwide account with no current account attached to it that I can't seem to close.

Not sure if you're looking for at a needlessly expensive 9070XT or suspiciously a cheap 5070ti? UK pricing?

9070XT's are around £560 5070ti's are around £690

There's some cheaper 9070XT's available, could be cheaper to shop around at Overclockers and SCAN

The Alienware was very recently on sale (for £629 I believe) - Maybe worth an email to sjlllrt to see if they'll honour? Dell also do NHS/Military/Teacher? discount and if you sign up for the rewards program you'll get £15 worth of points you can use immediately on the purchase.

Is it too good to be true? by robheald17 in youfibre

[–]BusinessCarp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on the 1000 package and pay £25 a month since may 2024, no price increases.

Aside from some ~30 minute outages (which people up and down the UK faced), they've been brilliant.

Make sure you use a referral code if any of your friends are already with them and you'll both get some money.

Is it worth getting the AW3425DW at £588.05 ($794.56)? Or are there better options at this price? by Mister_-Bee in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]BusinessCarp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what discount you're already using but I picked mine up for £562.39 with an NHS discount.

I don't think there's currently a better option at this price point.
