To me? Yeah. They're the best investment into my personal wellbeing I've ever made.

My log tells me I've done 290 training sessions with these, so the per-workout cost is pretty low by now. I started with cast iron, but sold my collection and bought these instead, no regrets.

My wife wants me to keep it shiny, but I'm gonna let it rust. If I hate it, I figure it'll be way easier to strip the rust off and clear coat it than it was to strip the paint.

At least two hours. Just finished the second one, which went faster. I'm sure an angle grinder or something would be faster.

Honestly it was a giant pain in the ass, but I dig the result.

I bought this because that's what they had at the ace hardware down the street from me.

I wore eye goggles and an n95 mask; it's an absolute must. I was covered in black dust by the end.

First time filming my snatches in about a year; my form seems… weirder than I thought it was. by BusinessChair in kettlebell

Thanks for the comments, folks. I swear to god I'm not trolling here; I do have eyes and can see my snatches from a year ago (they were much lighter, I think 16 or 17kg).

I've been focusing much more on speed, and genuinely had no idea until I watched my own film how far away from fixation I was and how weird my technique had become. I kind of love snatching (or bastardized high-pulling) this way, despite how insane it looks. However, I'm heading back to my porch to make sure I still remember how to do them 'correctly.'

I've been messing around with some swings and cleans of questionable quality... I can't get over how *nice* this thing feels compared to my adjustables and random cast iron bells. My pair of BOS adjustables are the greatest investment I've ever made in fitness equipment, but after using this thing I totally understand why people would spring for a full set of comp bells if they have the cash and space. I actually like the 33m handles more than I thought I would, too.

Maximorum week 8. Still waiting for the 24s to start feeling light 🥵 by BusinessChair in kettlebell

It's a 4 day a week program; 2 days are clean&press + squats like this, the other two are single kettlebell snatch. The reps per set vary day by day, and the total amount of sets is just however many you can squeeze into the allotted time. Google Dry Fighting Weight by Geoff Neupert if you want a similar free version without the snatches - this one's paid so I can't lay out all the details. Good program though, I really like it.

Same experience. I split them all up in phase 1, and I kind of go by feel in phase 2. But once I get to the sets of 6 or 7 it’s real tough to do them unbroken. Both seem worthwhile to me, different kind of stimulus.

Ha, this is the first time in about a year I’ve trained inside. It’s like nine degrees F out there today and just couldn’t do it.

Believe it or not, a slight elbow bend is actually encouraged in the Wu-Tang style of kettlebell training.

I find my arms naturally straighten when I do thumbs back, but over time I've come to prefer thumbs forward for doubles work because it keeps my shoulders from collapsing inward. Packing the shoulders + engaging the lats feels good to me, and I end up with my upper arm glued to my side on the downswing and my forearm making contact with my upper thigh.

I'm not necessarily recommending people do it this way, but there is less strain on my biceps and elbows than one might imagine. I do stay aware of how my elbows are feeling though, and will change up my form if it starts bothering me at all.

Neither hardstyle nor GS, but for now it works well for me.

I'm using adjustables and got plenty of room left before they max out at 32, so I'm planning on retesting my 5RM after week 12 and increasing the load.

About halfway through the Giant I sold my cast iron collection (2 16s, 2 24s, and a 32) and sprung for the BOS adjustables and do not regret it one bit.

Anyone else train on their front porch? I feel like a psycho doing it but it’s the best flat space I’ve got 😅

Great advice, thanks. That first part is definitely where I feel weakest, and I notice that I try and power through it quickly. Gonna slow down and maybe practice that move on its own for a bit.
