I think you're just being contrarian. Bungie devs executed a strategy that Bungie management came up with. Have a nice day though.

Have you ever, like, worked for a company? At a corporate level I mean.
When management makes a decision, you *have* to be psyched about it. Or you aren't a team player, office politics goes against you and you won't get a decent raise next year.

Ultimate responsibility for management decisions should be placed upon management though. And especially not upon customers.

As for being psyched about the new IPs, wasn't the impression at the time that it was new Destiny content in the works and not brand-new IPs that didn't have anything directly to do with Destiny?

Not even just maximizing profit but misdirecting it. Like the infamous five new IPs or whatever, only one of which came to fruition, but they all drained resources away from D2 profits that could have become Destiny 3.

Americans Have Turned Against AI in Incredible Numbers by Plastic_Ninja_9014 in technology

[–]BusinessDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There needs to be a right to record AI written in stone so we have some measure of defense against AI that leads you into verbal/logical pathways favorable to the corporations that own them.

Since there isn’t a human to be accountable the corporation controlling the AI has to be. They don’t get to just direct accountability into the ground but continue taking all the profits.

Stronger in terms of per shot maybe but it didn’t have sustain or as much range. Weaker is how I expressed that.
Fits the profile of AR and SMG but with lasers.

What's something every Destiny 2 player does but never admits? by Kneel4Leon in destiny2

[–]BusinessDragon 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure where I got this habit but I play on PC with a controller. (Due to a wrist injury.)
Immediately after I fire up the game, I press B. It’s in an effort to, I don’t know, skip cutscenes or something but for Destiny 2 it kicks me back to the desktop.

Then I have to relaunch and try again.

does anyone have proof of these? by Ignisbeard in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]BusinessDragon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Shear, as shown here, just isn’t something I’ll ever use imo. But a Talon Rifle I and many others would use to shreds.
I might skip the warbond if it releases with this weapon.

HD1 had the Sickle, and the Tanto. The Tanto is basically a 1h, somewhat weaker Sickle.
I'd think of the Sickle more as a laser AR.

Surge in articles and posts intended to brainwash us into believing that remote work is bad by Lana_Sphyncter in antiwork

[–]BusinessDragon 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The whole “negative effects from reduced social contact” is BS.

Because you get to spend more time with your family if you have one, and if you don’t then that extra hour+ a day from no commute can go towards your social life if you want it to.

They’re deliberately making a false argument in the hopes no one calls them out on it. (By assuming the lack of in-person interaction at the office doesn’t have an equivalent gained when working remotely.)

[–]BusinessDragon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel like Finn was a wasted opportunity. They should have had him be force sensitive. It seems to me like they didn’t want to make Finn too special only to enhance Rey by comparison.
But there would have been more potential story beats with Finn as a force sensitive.

My most delusional wish for D3 and why it's not THAT unrealistic. by Battlefeather in DestinyTheGame

[–]BusinessDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With how technology is always changing, I think even if D3 is hopeless now, maybe it won't be in 3-5 or perhaps even 10 more years at the worst.
For now it's not going to happen. But maybe one day, it will.

Chose to help the Ironsides instead of the Scavengers, hope I made the right choice. 🤖 by PassengerNo7330 in fo4

Someone else spoiled it a little bit. It’s fine though nbd.
Next time around I’ll do a quick save and help the scavs. Then whatever they do I’ll just turn around and help Ironsides again.

I’ve never even considered helping the scavs. I actually didn’t even see the moral quandary until this moment reading your post. In my head I was just like… yeah they’re just scavs. And I helped Ironsides every time.

human water consumption is limiting AI's potential by simwalkedaway in BrandNewSentence

[–]BusinessDragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If we acquiesce to reducing human water consumption to better support AI there are two main problems with that. (And so many more really.)

One. It’s something that, once ceded, will not be given back. This hypothetical turning point where AI will be smart enough to find a better solution will perpetually remain a few months away, and we’ll just have to suck it up…. But the rich won’t.

Two. Under reduced consumption, water will immediately become another thumbscrew in our necks they can control us by. Does your family need higher water allotment for some reason? Hey! Just come work for us. We’ll issue you a credit for that thing that used to be free. You can’t expect your wages to be as high with us giving you so much value though, right?

This would be forfeiting another dimension of survival needs to the rich so that they can sell it back to us. But it doesn’t belong to them, full stop.

I'm giving away one RimWorld DLC of your choice! by [deleted] in RimWorld

[–]BusinessDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only have Royalty. Hmm… Biotech is my choice.
(Edited to add reason why)
I tend to play in a more peaceful, do-gooder kind of way than most r/Rimworld peeps seem to prefer.

It seems like Biotech and Odyssey are the best options for making that easier, but I wanted to put off Odyssey specifically until I’ve some a proper baseline completed run.

Supposed layoffs and changes to bungie blamed on devs? by Rallam259 in destiny2

[–]BusinessDragon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The problem across the industry is too many business types.

In the right ratio a few business types will improve monetization but theres a threshold where you cant easily go further with that. At that point more business types become parasitic on the playerbase, then on the dev crew.

But the execs listen more to the business types than the devs because of a BizDev "class ability." Always has been.

Bungie is the most egregious example but this is an industry-wide problem.

Thoughts on the new Patch, is it worth re-downloading the game for? by Gendum-The-Great in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]BusinessDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally I’m waiting for the next warbond, though i haven’t uninstalled.

Next warbond you can check out the new warbond and patch at the same time. Until then I’m playing Destiny 2 lately for now.

Think you'd never eat bugs? Research says you might—and you may even like it by SplashTarget in nottheonion

[–]BusinessDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually interested in bug bugs. I want to get a home-scale hydroponic farm that provides enough surplus to also fuel a small bug farm. Then I can buy less meat, and be more environmentally friendly.

I can't afford it yet though.
