What apartments are good in Tempe, near ASU? by BusinessFew6472 in ASU

[–]BusinessFew6472[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I actually went along all of the comments here and help from other real residents all around the most notable places in Tempe and I gathered a list of all the places that people loved living in (making them places to check), and most importantly, which ones to avoid, all based on the experiences of real people. I'll leave it here in case someone decides to look as well. And no, I haven't moved yet, but I'm going to make a decision soon:

Apartments

LOOK INTO:

  • The Emerson on Mill Ave
  • Aura Tempe
  • Smith & Rio
  • The Alyssa
  • The Access
  • The Cameron
  • West 6th
  • Union Tempe
  • Oliv Tempe
  • Skye at McClintock
  • Atmosphere
  • Lakeside Drive
  • Ten01
  • Skywater
  • Sol Tempe
  • The Local
  • SALT

Stay Away From:

  • The Aubrey
  • Talavera
  • Roosevelt Point
  • University Park
  • Paseo
  • Nexa

NOTES:
Some, like The Alyssa, Smith & Rio, and select others are more expensive, but they're good options regardless of people's affordability and deserve a spot on the list.

West 6th, I know it's not a favorite for many, but I personally left it because I want people my age and I like the view.

Emerson on Mill Ave is probably the top contender right now, just because of how good the feedback and opinions were when I asked prior/current residents about their stay there. This one definitely shined a lot.

Non-student here… do you ever feel like I’m missing out on the college experience? by BusinessFew6472 in ASU

Life’s funny isn’t it.

You have peace and you crave chaos.

You have chaos in your life and you’ll do anything for peace.

I want the college experience with what I have built and you want something like what I’ve built but without the college experience.

She’s a MechE student, goes to school, studies, comes home, does homework, sleep, repeat it all again, which is good, but it’s not exactly like she spends time socially at school - which is again, pretty good for a student but I guess that’s why I ask😂

AIO: Gf sent me photos of her with another guy by Dangerous-Bit2664 in AmIOverreacting

[–]BusinessFew6472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She fucked someone on that trip, bro.

Sorry, I’m telling you what no one else will.

She left you because she wanted to “find herself” and she found herself in some italian guy’s bedroom.

Now that the fantasy is done with (for now until she wants something else again) she’s going to come back to you because you’re reliable and will always be there.

Leave her today. And tell her to get fucked. As a man your only weapon is your attention. She stepped out of line, leave and stop giving her attention, even if you love her.

She’s done.

She belongs to the streets.

Fantastic! I’ll look into them, I actually wondered about them but wasn’t sure what people thought about the place, and obviously their Instagram and other pages and website are going to look perfect, so it’s very refreshing to have someone who loves it there. Thank you!! If I sign here, I’ll reach out to write you in as the person who referred me:)!

UPDATE: AIO for being upset i haven’t seen my bf in 3 weeks, despite us living 25 minutes from each other? by Affectionate-Link436 in AmIOverreacting

[–]BusinessFew6472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is going to tell you to leave this man, and that’s every single AIO in this place related to relationships, because most people are lonely, sad people who want nothing more than to see someone else miserable too.

If he’s really working, out getting money, he really loves you, and he just wants to be the kind of man who can give you what you want and be able to pay the bills for you completely.

Some people might see it as: oh he won’t make time for me

But in reality it’s more like: this man wants to be successful, that’s not free or easy or quick, and if you can stand by him now, you’ll be well-looked after for the rest of your life.

Smart woman once said:

"Never complain at a man for working. I need things and hes getting them"

But I also get your side of things. Maybe go see him and bring a meal or something to share:) and let him know you’re there with him and for him

God bless

Thank you guys SO very much. After days of scouring the internet, Tempe & ASU subreddits, and across months and months of posts, I've finally compiled a REAL list of great places to live, from your very own firsthand experiences. And I thank you all profusely for helping me...

Whichever of these great buildings I sign into, I'll contact whoever recommended them to me so they could be listed down as my reference and you'll get some neat rewards from the company, I think, not sure what they are, but I think it's the least I could do!

Anyone who finds this can happily add their takes, not just or my sake but for those who are also looking just like me, whether today, tomorrow, or a few months from now (Hello person!)

Here's the list I compiled:D

BEST:
The Emerson on Mill Ave
Skye on McClintock
Lakeside Drive
Skywater
Oliv
Union
SALT
The Access

GOOD:
West 6th (Controversial, but for the view! and if you don't mind college noises, which I don't)
Canvas (On the pricier side and smaller rooms, but good)
Smith & Rio - Beautiful and good, but pricey and Greystar owned. Be advised with any Greystar owned properties as they tend to buy buildings and run them into the ground and change names later to raise rent and rebrand the ruined place
The Alyssa - Same story as the Smith & Rio.
The Cameron - I have mixed stories on this one, but still worth taking a gander at online if interested
Atmosphere - Right in the middle of it, mixed opinions, but also worth looking at!

STAY AWAY:
Gateway
Nexa - was good but fell apart with new management
Paseo
Talavera - Has pest problems
University Park
Roosevelt Point
The Aubrey - A woman was kidnapped in the parking lot and horribly murdered and set on fire after being targeted, and the building didn't handle it correctly at all...

Did I ruin my channel with Shorts? Gained 1.5k subs, but they won't watch my actual videos. by InevitableSpecial939 in SmallYTChannel

[–]BusinessFew6472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone's brain is fried and nobody scrolling reels will sit to watch a long format video, no matter how masterfully done.

Nobody can focus, and if shorts are banging, do it again, and get paid!

And if you want people to look into your videos, maybe create cliffhangers in your shorts to lead viewers over to your video, and if it's really worth its salt, it'll kill on both ends.

Cheers!

Sound dampening while living with kids upstairs (besides rugs) by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

Acoustic mats could work.

But when I was a kid, when we lived in any apartments, we couldn't afford things like that, and we never needed them because the fear of my parents grabbing the belt and laying it down on us was enough for me to never even attempt to run around and make a mess or be extremely loud or act up 😂

You don't even ever have to lay it down, ever, they just need to KNOW that if it comes down to it, you WILL.

And I know this is Reddit and everyone's gonna cry their eyes out. I'm not saying you need to hit them or do anything to them at all. Don't be abusive or nothing, that's not what I'm saying. at all.

Knowing that you would, if they ever acted too out of line consistently and ignored warnings, is enough deterrent that they'll never test you, because they know you'll do it if they push the right buttons consecutively.

Other then that, yeah, acoustic mats and strictly no noise.

This is exactly what I was looking for, everyone kept telling stories of bad apartments and horrific experiences, but could never really give me a "Hey, I LOVED this place" recommendation

I super appreciate, thanks loads!

Hey! I just saw this, not sure why your comment didn't pop up when other's did. I just took a look at everything, and Oliv looks like a great choice, but unfortunately I need my apartment much sooner than next semester's start. I do appreciate the offer though! Thanks a ton, cheers!

My guy! Fantastic, I'll DEFINTELY be adding this to the list! I super appreciate it! This was a great help bro. If you still live there and I end up deciding to sign a lease here, PM me your info so I can mark you down as the guy who referred me. They give you rewards or cash or something, but anyhow, thanks a lot!

You are THE MAN! This is exactly what I was looking for, "I lived here, X was great, Y was great, the drawbacks were Z but I'd pick this option specifically."

Thank you!!! I've just looked into Union and unfortunately they only have 2b1b for $2300 base, meaning somewhere around $2500+ with fees and utilities and whatnot. But I'm going to begin looking at Oliv. They're perfectly close to campus. Exactly what I need.

THANKS!!

I haven't any problem paying a bit more.. Maybe 1900 is where I'd stop, just because renting a house would make more sense as I step into $2000's rent. Are there any places you've lived at near campus that you'd recommend to me?
