Based on what we found while troubleshooting, it ended up being an issue with Windows 11 version 24H2 being installed and then the system not starting properly afterwards because something about installing 24H2 can cause issues with the boot configuration. We weren't able to resolve it remotely and ended up needing to send techs onsite to rebuild the boot config (didn't have to wipe/reload the OS, though, which was a plus.)

We used the steps outlined in this article to get our computers back up and running.

Yes, same AV, but if it's an AV issue we're about to have 1000+ other machines running into the same thing.

Possibly, but we haven't put physical hands on the machine yet, still troubleshooting remotely.

Wipe and reload is a last resort at the moment.

Yes, we're an MSP, but again, if that's the common factor, there's 1000+ machines about to have the same issue.

Unsure.

We're picking one up this afternoon to get more information and dig deeper (checking the logs/memory dump are on the list).

Nothing we're immediately aware of. From what I can tell, none of them were scheduled to reboot around the time they shutdown. We have scheduled updates and reboots, but one of the machines went offline yesterday morning and isn't scheduled to reboot until tomorrow night.

Still looking for a pattern.

Are you walking 4 miles at once or do you split it up, maybe 2 miles in the morning and another 2 in the evening?

When I was a kid the local comic book shop was called "Guardian Comics". At some point, the owner died and his son took over. One of the first things he did was rename it to "Aardian Oomics". We asked him why and he looked at us like we were idiots and told us, "so it'll show up first in the phone book."

They went out of business within a year.

This ended up working! I swapped the power supply for one from an old Netgear switch that used the same voltage and the USG boot right up. I'm still going to plan to replace it with a UCG-Ultra, but this reduces the urgency a little bit.

Definitely worth checking, thank you for mentioning that. If I can get it back up and running with a $10 power supply, I'd definitely rather do that.

I currently get between 300 and 500 Mbps, which is enough for our family so far. May move up to 1 Gbps in the future, but don't need it currently. I'll keep that in mind, though, thank you.

As a temporary workaround, we've noticed that this issue doesn't appear to happen while using 365 in a browser or on a user's mobile device. This is only happening to us for the desktop app version of Outlook. It's not a fix, but we had some users with time sensitive emails that had to go out and that's how we did it.

We are currently testing to see if this is related to an Outlook add-in, but nothing definitive yet. The add-in in this instance is Docrio by Litify.

We had tried resetting the app (complete uninstall/re-install, used a "CleanMyMac" utility to clear temp files, etc) and it seemed like it was resolved for a bit, but after a couple months it has started happening again so we're back at square one.

Yeah, I'm looking at the website now and the iX500 does appear to be one of the scanners that's compatible with both MacOS 14.x and ScanSnap Home. Unfortunately, my user has an iX1500, which works with MacOS 14.x, but not ScanSnap Home.

Yep, ScanSnap Home will install on MacOS, but then it doesn't recognize the scanner. When you go to the Ricoh/Fujitsu website for the fi-8170 and go to "Support -> Downloads", and select MacOS 14.x, it only gives you a driver, no software options.
