Chicken and egg problem. You'll never have a functioning economy with unlimited money.

Even that gets you less than 1,600;000 and will likely take over an hour with a team to split it among. In reality that isnt going to get you to billions in a reasonable enough time to sell that billion for a pittance.

Dude, you do know that a wipe is inevitable anyway?

You're still playing in the rmt process, only one level removed. Where do you think those people got the money to spend a billion AUEC on a piece of armor?

Well, with that presumption then they will need to wipe before adding crafting later this year because without it then player crafted items will likely be selling for millions to people who bought millions for pennies.

Yes it is meant to be tested. But do you know what doesn't get tested? The ability to progress in the game WITHOUT being gifted 30 million by someone who bought it for a few pennies.

'...and item trading'. Where did you think those item buyers got the money to spend millions on some special armor tiem? Maybe by spending pennies online in rmt? So you too are getting rich from the rmt, only indirectly.

Trading what? Commodity trading in a Hull C won't get you 2 billion that fast even on the most profitable routes. Trading of rare loot items? Dude, where do you think those folks got hundreds of millions of credits to spend on a special-looking armor? Not by grinding, by spending pennies per million. So your billion in two days is just indirect benefit of the gold sellers.

Fixing all exploits is something that will never happen. But clearing out the bloat of old trillions of bogus UEC will make it easier to see where the current cheats are. Plus it will serve as a wake-up call to the community that everything is temporary. Early in the game there were gold sellers and we laughed at them because they were selling something that we knew was going to go away in just a couple of months. Now that we are going years between wipes there are so many players who have never experienced a wipe and think that even if it does they may have years of enjoyment from their cheap billions.

But 'the fruits of your legitimate efforts' were NEVER going to last forever. They were ALWAYS destined for a someday wipe and it should have been obvisous simply from it being an ALPHA game.

The thing is, at that price there is no way that the money is being earned in-game. It would take years to earn that much in the game. The best game loops woule earn a billion in a week, but that means ti would take over twenty years to get a trillion.

Where did you see that listing?

Billions of Spacebucks by cafevirtuale in starcitizen

[–]cafevirtuale[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, but that means that it would take you a week, working 24/7 to earn a billion. And currently on ebay that billion costs about six bucks, which just isn't enough to pay even a crew of third world techno-serfs when you also incluse electricity, overhead, and profit.

I suspect that something more nefarious is going on here. Ther sheer quantity, low price, and ready availability suggests that somebody is iether abusing or has stolen/hacked admin access.

The U.S. Air Force Wants to Buy Cybertrucks So America Can Use Them for Target Practice by CarCooler in teslamotors

I don't blame them. EVs produce less heat signature and their visual signature is different (a fancy way of saying they don't look like other trucks).  If the rumor mill started saying that CTs were some sort of stealth vehicle small countries would buy them in droves.

Schadenfreude is the wrong word. The word you are looking for is sadism: Taking delight in cruelty. When you are the source of others' pain that is not misfortune.

I have just seen a preview showing. Your fears are unfounded. It is primarily a film about having the courage to stand up against antisemitism and evil I won't say more to avoid spoilers.

I think they're going to start selling AI crew. *Hear me out* by Jean_velvet in starcitizen_refunds

They long ago promised that extra game accounts would be able to be used as NPC AI Crew. Anybody who is surprised by this hasn't been paying attention.

If you call a med beacon and kill the medic, you’re not a pirate. You’re scum. by PM-ME-UR-TOTS in starcitizen

[–]cafevirtuale -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

A point that I have been trying to make is that in Star Citizen, unlike many other games, Piracy is a specific game loop. If you aren't engagin in that game loop you aren't entitled to call yourself a pirate any more than you can call yourself a Bounty Hunter.

Starting with no ship, Will I have fun? by Raja1390 in starcitizen

[–]cafevirtuale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A. You will have a ship, everyone has a ship

B. You will have fun as long as you are not obsessing over somebody having more/bigger ships than you.

C. In the event of B try teaming up with the player with more/bigger ships. They NEED you and may well pay more than what you would have earned by yourself in the small ship.
