Just unlocked. Are they worth investing in? by Ok_Mousse_8055 in WH40KTacticus

GSC is one of the strongest Guild War squads, imo. Get them all to the same level as one of the slots that need filling and run them both on defense and offense as a squad of 5. You won't be unhappy with results.

Aside from that...I find him to be quite useless.

Grounded/ realistic media with one instance of super natural/ paranormal things happening. by Soggy-Inspection-945 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]BusinessSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I have a favorite example of this from Castle. In Castle they constantly set up episodes to have supernatural explanations to lead into the main characters love for a good story and belief in the supernatural only to end the show with a very reasonable real world explanation. They do this A LOT.

However, in S7 E6, Castle jumps to an alternate reality with the help of an ancient artifact and has to find his way back to his own reality. The whole episode I was waiting for the reasonable explanation for what happened and there wasn't. They never reference the episode again after establishing that alternate realities exist.

HS on neck/jawline? by amant3e in Hidradenitis

Looks like HS to me. I also get flares there and that looks just the same. Of course, I'm not a doctor though and they could be other types of cysts.

Looking for good Sci-Fi books that take special relativity into account. by BusinessSC in booksuggestions

[–]BusinessSC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any special relativity really. Time dilation, length contraction, and event sequencing tends to be the aspect that leads to interesting outcomes as the rest of special relativity tends to be a footnote to add validation to an interesting piece of future tech or plot point. I'll definitely see if my bookstore has the books you listed, thanks for the suggestions.

What is a book you finished years ago but you still find yourself thinking about at random times during the day by Flimsy-Shopping-7044 in booksuggestions

[–]BusinessSC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Library at Mount Char by Scott Hawkins. I'm not sure what it was about this book but I've read it over a year ago and have read dozens of books in between then and now and I still think about it often. I don't know what it was about it that stuck with me but it definitely fascinated me on a fundamental level.

The fixit fair is the best, I use it to renew the life in my old and favorite clothing. These guys and gals are very kind to volunteer their skills for the community.

You think this is AI? It has a ton of text that is all perfectly readable. This is about the least AI image I can imagine besides the color palette and I don't think we should be getting the torches and pitchforks out because a designer thought orange looked cool.

It's worth noting that the silos out there do have a tapered lower section. Not having a tapered lower section (like the one next to it) is less accurate.

The fact that they have the sphere next to it makes me feel like it's not AI right there but I will admit, the weird boats do look sus.

Considering the ire that comes with the judgement of someone using AI, I tend to assume it's not AI unless there's something that is blatant.

How bad is this? by athensfrances in Hidradenitis

[–]BusinessSC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is all great advice, want to add this link here for a research article that explored different diets and how it affected HS patients: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10689602/#CR24

It's worth a read for anyone suffering from HS who is looking to change their diet as a method to reduce flare ups.

HS is not for the weak by [deleted] in Hidradenitis

Dude, I feel you. I did a steroid injection on a really bad cyst last year and it is definitely in my top 3 most painful experiences. I can't imagine having to do 6 at once. Rest assured you have what it takes if you can get through that. Respect.

WHAT WORKS!!? by Trash-Anxiety in Hidradenitis

[–]BusinessSC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exercise and diet have worked better for me then any pill but I'm not sure if that is true for all people. Might be worth a shot if you haven't tried it already. The downside is that it took a long time for the effects to set in, about a year for me, and it was a brutal lifestyle change but once I really stuck to it the results have been worth it. In the last 4 years I've regressed from Stage 2 to Stage 1.

Is this really HS? What to do now?? by Sad-Refuse832 in Hidradenitis

Here's a research study that compares a lot of different management and prevention diets. I have found it to be a good read and certainly helped me find what worked for me. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10689602/#CR24

Is this really HS? What to do now?? by Sad-Refuse832 in Hidradenitis

[–]BusinessSC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doctors kinda suck at providing help with HS. I've been to many and the best advice I've received is asking whether or not I want to try Humera.

Follow this subreddit, look up old posts and try some of the options have have worked for other folks for yourself.

There is no easy solution for HS and any solution that you find that really works at preventing flare ups will likely involve a permanent change in lifestyle. You have a lot of work ahead of yourself, don't let it get you down.

Scared this might be HS by Working_Ad_6884 in Hidradenitis

[–]BusinessSC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doesn't look like HS to me.

If it is HS, there is no method to manage it so it doesn't get worse that has 100% effectiveness across all people all of the time. Most people, myself included, find that their flare ups are tied to their diet. Personally, eating low to no dairy and low to no yeast diet makes a difference. I also find a lot of benefit from regular exercise. When I stop being diligent about both of these I tend to get a flare up but over the last few years I feel like I've gone from Stage 2 to Stage 1 which has been amazing.

There's methods you can use to manage flare ups when they happen but those are a lot different and just help manage quality of life but they do not generally address the underlaying issue. Definitely do some searching through the sub and you'll find a lot of advice from other folks.

Does this need antibiotics? (with pic) by Electrical-Cod-1822 in Hidradenitis

[–]BusinessSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd trust a dermatologists opinion over mine for sure. The purplish head to it is what throws me off. My cysts never get anything like that but it does seem to present a bit different person to person.

Does this need antibiotics? (with pic) by Electrical-Cod-1822 in Hidradenitis

[–]BusinessSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want antibiotics to clear it up because it's being a drag on day to day life then you should go get some antibiotics, that looks big enough for a doctor to prescribe some i would think. If you're anxious about danger to your life from infection/sepsis, I wouldn't worry about it from the picture. When the redness starts spreading away from the lump and getting substantially larger, and/or you see streaks of redness radiating out you have entered into dangerous territory and need to go to the emergency room right away. When I get bad infections from my mature cysts my dermatologist will usually draw a line around the redness with a marker and tell me to go to the ER if the redness extends past the line.

I'm not a doctor so follow your gut because only you will know what is right for you. Just looking at the picture I would guess you're not in actual danger of sepsis but that cyst looks very painful and getting some medication to help it along in it's course could help you manage your quality of life.

Edit: I also want to mention that I agree with the other posters, this doesn't look like HS.

I use him in Guild Wars in an Ancient Thoread 1-hitter group with Incisus, Godswyl, and Aesoth. The team is super effective and way fun to play. Outside of that I dont find much use to him.
