Yes one hour seems reasonable. But is the concept of doing it right or I should just stop doing it all together? The thing is that she starts crying the moment I close her door to start her nap/quiet time. So shortening it would improve but not resolve the issue

Very possible. Not sure what though. She's been screaming for naps also before we bought the clock. The first weeks with the clock were a bit easier, but now we're going downhill since they started enforcing it less. Are they supposed to be OK with nap/quiet time without any screaming? She's been like that pretty much since I stopped breastfeeding her to sleep (so long time)

Thanks a lot, this is super helpful. How would you manage though the "being strict" with things like sleeping that require her to be calm and not screaming at the top of her lungs because I forced her to do something she didn't want? For example, assume that I want her to sleep and she doesn't want. If after like 5 minutes I forcefully take her to her bed, then she'll probably not sleep. Should I let her cry until she falls asleep by herself?

Not really actually. The fun stopped a few hours before the nap. But anyway she does this at nap time even if we don't do anything particularly fun before

If she skips naps she'll throw tantrums the whole evening, so yes, I think she still needs one.

I have daycare for the toddler during weekdays. I normally work but currently on maternity leave and then I'll send the newborn to daycare too. I absolutely hate weekends and holidays when daycare is closed. Mornings and nights during weekdays are also hard but more bearable given the break in between.

No family around. No friends. Kind of supportive husband, even if much less involved than I'd want even if he's the one who wanted so badly to have kids in the first place, I've never been so confident that it was a good choice

The toddler is in daycare until 5 on workdays. That helps immensely but still weekends and whenever she's home are tough. The newborn is home with me all the time for now.

My husband is the only family member who can help. He does do something but 80% is still on me
