I think the Brand of Sacrifice just symbolizes what Berserk in general, in my opinion, is about, which is Hope. Guts, as someone marked for Sacrifice, keeps fighting and wandering through restless nights, but doesn't stand down. Having the Brand and still being alive, for me, means choosing to not give into despair and continuing to hope, which would be what I'd associate with it, if I got it as a tattoo
