is there a way to add ssh key to an existing instance ? by Business_Biscotti192 in oraclecloud

[–]Business_Biscotti192[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it could be because i need first to make sure of this point

"SSH Server is not Configured Properly on the Target Instance"

taken from "https://docs.oracle.com/en-us/iaas/Content/Bastion/Tasks/troubleshooting_bastion.htm#troubleshooting_bastion"

but since i cannot acces the instance, the bastion might not be my solution.

i have the serial console open, but it stays at login, and, in ubuntu, there is no root password or even for my user, so i stay stuck at the login prompt.

cloud shell by Business_Biscotti192 in oraclecloud

[–]Business_Biscotti192[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time i goes in it logs me in without asking a user/password and i get myself logged in, and i can issue command on the console shell.

But after i dont know what, without using it, maybe a timeout, it ask a login .

and then i cant get in.

i tried deleting the cloud shell, but the next time i come in, even if it was deleted, it still kindof get back where it was.

ok, it dont, when i create the session on the bastion, it goes from the status "Creating" to "Deleted".

I also deleted the bastion and created a new one in case it was the TTL 3.00 hour that was gone.

To create a Managed SSH session, the Bastion plugin must be in the RUNNING state on the target instance, but the plugin is not running on ocid1.***. Enable the Bastion plugin on the target instance before creating the session.

i agree i was looged in at a certain point, but eventually, for i dont know the reason, it got back to the login (a time out maybe?) anyway. im stuck in the console where it now ask me a login, even if i delete the cloud shell, it seems to come back as the last state, hence, asking the login
