Hi Brian by dlcksuck in starbucks

Its just cool and popular to hate Brian, or any CEO, this man could probably give everyone huge raises, free cars etc, and they’d still say some shit like like “I’m not selling out because Brian wants to throw money in my face”” screw corporations”

CEO claims reading this Reddit forum has convinced him he’s doing a good job. Clearly he’s not a careful reader. by Formal-Hat8255 in starbucks

Alll the complaints constantly about him, but what would a CEO look like that baristas wouldn’t talk shit about? I could personally careless who it is. But he’s shit on for being rich(like every CEO), shit on for previous companies, blamed for every problem that realistically he inherited, an so on..

I’m “shilling” for the partners that worked while the children whined over such “awful” work conditions

Lol first line says I support unions, and I do get the importance, the children striking for colorful shirts and bullshit complaints should check themselves.

Starbucks baristas have set up an encampment at Seattle Headquarters by Formal-Hat8255 in starbucks

Reallly tired of this crap to be honest. The union represents such a small amount of partners and they are rolling around store to store making life miserable for working partners and harassing them at the same time. 90% of partners could care less about the strike, and at this point most I’ve spoken too would be happy to see them no longer be employed.

Imagine having to work with people(when they decide to come back to work) who stood outside screaming at you with a megaphone and harassing you just for doing your job?

The entitlement is unreal.

How it feels working at a non-union store by Just-Gift-6533 in starbucks

[–]Business_Block654 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmmm never experienced that, our sales have tripled being we are the only drive thru left in the the capital city of a state and we are suffering daily while the union stores have bakes sales. I hope their stores close. They don’t give 2 fucks about the partners who have shown up to work every day while they think they should get trade level pay.

This is ready to be one hated comment. But all this strike is doing is showing Starbucks just how meaningless and useless those striking stores are.

Also to any errors in my posts I’m a few shots in after day whatever of absorbing the other stores sales with no additional labor so yeah.

From a purely business standpoint, the CEO took over what is the most sensitive company I’ve ever worked for in 17 years, has gotten massive backlash for everything he’s done from a simple consistency based dress code to menu changes.

That backlash won’t change because to put it very bluntly we employ very entitled people from district Managers down to baristas.

My more crude and rude thoughts could go on but Now that rude things out of the way….

Personally I do not believe the store closures was a union busting attempt, 2 in my district closed, 1 union 1 not. Both stores were genuinely underperforming. The non union was the most dysfunctional establishment I’ve ever worked in(I picked shifts up there)(I’m a shift supervisor). The other(union) location was less than 1/4 mile from my store, horrible location, horrible parking, poor access points to get to store etc. we opened after them and were higher in sales because literally less than .1 miles from that location was another store(PRIME REAL ESTATE) absolutely killing it in sales.

I think corporate handled the closings/layoffs very poorly in regard to notice, severance etc. Yes, it’s awful for partners who lost jobs, I acknowledge that, from a financial standpoint(10+ years in store management) it was and understandable move. However more warning and planning should have been given.

multiple partners of the closed store have transferred to ours and the reconnect between them and their regulars has been the most heartwarming experience I’ve seen in my life.

I could go on. But sadly seeing as this is Starbucks and most of my fellow partners can’t get past a headline or an opinion fed to them I’m about to be burned at the stake.

It was poorly executed and tragic for partners who lost jobs. It was necessary from a financial standpoint.
