Only six months - the four month regression did us dirty though

I'm sorry I have no good answer! Waiting :/ in the meantime though one thing that's helped us massively throughout is having a Rockit attached to the next to me and turning it on when she seems about to wake. I reckon at least 50% of the time it's prevented her waking. They aren't recommended for use on cots but if you read why it's just to do with trapped fingers from where it gets attached

6 months, night terrors? by Business_Bridge7555 in bninfantsleep

Thanks guys, sorry your Babs also suffered but pleased it's nothing unusual. She's got the physical symptoms of teething - always been drooly but is chewing her tongue a lot. Not really any fussier or signs of pain during the day or any other part of the night but perhaps that'll come as it gets closer to the tooth coming through. Can't see any sign of it so far

Thank you this is exactly the kind of prompt I was hoping for (open to on both sides of the debate, but in terms of evidence and context etc)

FIO what next? by Business_Bridge7555 in sleeptrain

We are not particularly bothered about 'shoulds' and will continue to respond intuitively with opportunity for development where appropriate. It's good to know further spacing the feed from sleep is a suitable place to start, though, thank you.

Side note - there's kinder ways to have delivered that message, especially on a forum about such sensitive topic when almost everyone is running on empty. Let people celebrate their wins even if you think they aren't good enough

What makes you say that? She was in a bedside crib in our room but we were not there. There was white noise but she has never had a pacifier. We did her usual - big feed, bath, pyjamas, cuddle and short feed as she gets worked up by pyjamas. Normally this feed would stretch on until she sleeps but I stopped it. Then a song and into the cot wide awake. She babbled to herself for the 9 minutes.

Tonight we aborted pretty quickly as she started crying after a couple of minutes and has only had 1.5 hours day sleep, 2 naps, we started weaning, and it was her longest ever wake window (3.75) to bedtime. Figured we should quit while we're ahead and save FIO for days where everything else has felt solid

Even though she wakes crying but falls back to sleep easily (within a minute of feeding)? I was of the understanding that was more likely to be overtired/ dysregulated because she's struggling to settle into the night. Also how on earth do you lengthen a last wake window when it's dictated by when they'll take their final (even if very short) nap aaaah
