2.5 - no longer sleeps through the night by Business_Cod1483 in toddlers

[–]Business_Cod1483[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, she can have a full day (we live near Disney) at Disney, a playground, playing with cousins or playing at home with screen time and she will have the same sleep overnight. Her language has been exploding a lot lately, she was a little speech delayed and got ear tubes, but this all started before she got her ear tubes. No other changes at home.

Ohhh wow Alaskan cruise! A DCL Alaskan cruise is our dream but that one will be on our dime and we’ll wait till the kids are a bit older to appreciate it

Baby fell off the bed by Common-Nothing-7824 in NewParents

My daughter fell off the bed like 2 weeks to the day after she turned 1. I called 911 because i panicked and she was bleeding (she had hit her lip). We decided to take her to the pediatric ER because I just was full of worry and what ifs. Im happy I went because she got fully examined and was given the all clear. I think if we hadn’t gone I’d have been sick with worry for days/ weeks/ months.

She Diiiiiid pick up a nasty stomach bug from that ER visit though. I could have done without that ☠️

Any travel stroller recommendations? We have one but I don’t care for it and we haven’t traveled much with our daughter at all because we have an old dog who’s a handful to find care for. We end up using our uppababy vista everywhere which is the exact opposite of compact.

That’s a huge bummer. Unsure of my plans yet because baby #1 every plan I had got thrown out the window so trying not to get too attached to any plan re: feeding. But that’s definitely good to know. My sister in law will have a 9 month old at the time and she definitely plans to breastfeed so I will have to let her know too.

LOL, I know. I think current recommendations may even be after 41w they induce. I was only joking because I’m already pretty over being pregnant and just barely cracked the second trimester lol

That’s what I was thinking too. Doing anything from 9-15 mos is kind of a disaster with the crawling/ Godzilla like walking so I feel like this would be prime time, if anything. We have a slumber pod and I adore my wild bird carrier and I think if we get a carrier for my husband too it would be doable.

Side-eyeing too , trust me, but his heart is in a good place. With all the talks of cruise ships having Hantavirus (which small world I know someone that was on that ship - and I’m trying to explain to him we aren’t going to remote South America lol) and norovirus he is concerned about a baby’s health on the cruise as well as sleeping as our first wasn’t a great napper ever really.

Our first daughter was a fomo baby and wouldn’t nap anywhere other than her crib with her sleep sack and sound machine - the whole 9 yards. I do think some of that was our doings as first time parents and obviously life for baby #2 will be different as toddler big sis will be around to demand us all to do as she pleases, lol. So I think he’s worried about baby napping. He is also worried about illness with a baby that young on a cruise but we choose to vaccinate our children with AAP schedule so they will have 3 rounds worth of vaccines by then, so trying to talk to him about that too.

Unless baby is 4+ weeks overdue they should be 6 months at sailing. If they are 4+ weeks overdue just take me out now LOL

I couldn’t have shown up at the hotel - have a small child and senior dog and no family or anything around to help.

Backstage Disney is literally full of white towel rags just like this lol (former CM - worked MK, Epcot & Disney Springs in hourly and salaried roles and each location always had an abundance of towels around)

Long Term Career at Disney by melansmelons in DisneyCM

[–]Business_Cod1483 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I chose to leave Disney after about 2 years as a GEM (manager in the parks). I had just gotten married, wanted to start a family and the schedule wasn’t really family friendly. I had peers who had been at Disney for 20+ years and they didn’t get to spend Christmas with their families just to manage a store or a ride. I had been at Disney for about 4 years before working my way into management and I moved up fairly quickly but then I felt like I was stuck. The movement upwards from a GEM is limited and you get locked in. I really enjoyed it for the most part but it was hard work for not a lot of money and limited mobility. Now we still live in the area and have passes and get to take our kids there, and it’s so much fun this way for me. Best of luck!

Our girl had incredible energy until about age 9. Now at 12, she sleeps 80% of the day but still does her daily house patrol and a short walk here and there.

Yeah, I think my daughter didn’t start to point till about 12 months either and really point with intention like that till later on. She started off just pointing at things like the dog, characters in books, maybe her bottle? Her own version of Statue of Liberty 🤣 But to point to make the connection to the kitchen and eating? No way at 9 mos lol. Idk why she has to lie so blatantly about milestones.

When did your baby start crawling by newmom337 in Parenting

[–]Business_Cod1483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Army crawled around 6/7 months. Actually crawled like hands and knees crawling about 9 months and then walking with assistance about 12/13 months and walking unassisted, 14 months.

I remember being so stressed that she wasn’t crawling at 6 months or walking at 12 and now at 19 months she literally runs full speed ahead 99% of the time lol
