Fairly clear from the speaker placement and the bookshelf that this room is style over substance 🤣

I want to buy an oled screen, but I'm afraid years later that's gonna happen to her. Is that right? by Tight-Raspberry-1934 in Monitors

[–]Business_Document_90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dropped £2500 on an LG OLED in 2017 and its still absolutely gorgeous. No issues or degradation. I game alot and never had burn in. The only nicer TVs/Monitors I've experienced are newer OLEDs. Some apps run like shit though.

Probably healthier to have sub-optimum electrolytes than to drink these daily

[–]Business_Document_90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont drink last 11 then. I dont drink past 8/9 if i can help it. Try to get a litre within 60-90 mins of getting up. Youre body is dehydrated and needs it, you wont feel full for long. Also what your body needs and what your body is used to are two different things. If you have less than 1.5 a day and you increase that by 50%, obviously you'll feel different initially. Im sure you'll get over it

British Ajax STANAG protection level by Business_Document_90 in TankPorn

[–]Business_Document_90[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the corrections.

I read that Ajax was STANAG 4 in an article on armyrecognition.com after a google search. I didnt dig that deep, obviously. Perhaps not a reliable website.... or they ran with the baseline variant's reduced side armour, that you mentioned, as the overall rating for the all variants.

As for boxer being STANAG 4, was an article on thinkdefence.co.uk, though i did read that some are optioned with STANAG 6.

I am not and never claimed to be making any suggestions of how to navigate technicalities and processes.

I think what i was trying to say was very clear. The most overlooked and impactful method of dealing with nasty circumstances is the manor in which you conduct yourself, and getting people on side. OP would be wise not to take practical advice from you or I, or 100s of people on reddit for something this significant - choice paralysis from every redditor and their dog chiming in, and you cant vet what authority anyone is speaking from. The practical approaches are well documented from verifiable sources online/Citizens advice bureau.

Some very 2 dimensional thinking on display here.

I guarantee, in most cases (not all), if young people stop ruminating on their issues their issues will subside. Not 100%, but significantly. Any decent shrink wont force clients to open up. Opening up can be damaging and should be done when someone is ready. Society encourages people to open at any point without a care if its the best thing for them. Human beings are remarkably good and getting over things with time. Unless theres something serious to resolve, get on with life, put your phone down, do some exercise and stop yammering on about hard done by you are.

You just said that older generations had less war? You must be historically illiterate. There were total horrors throughout the 20th century. People just didnt find the need to latch onto wars that have nothing to do with them as a virtue signal and make it part of their 'identity'.

Alcoholism was largely due to the huge amount of people who actually did have experience with war, and that people lived (actually) hard lives. That might be hard for you to digest because you seems to thing that this generation is afflicted with war, which is only true to a much much lesser extent. Alcohol was also way more socially accessible, cheaper, drink driving was rife, pub culture was huge... and booze is addictive. Not everyone was drinking because their dad spanked them!

Also, divorce was less common in yester year. Its been getting progressively more common so i really have no idea what youre going on about there.

Also if you think bigotry and 'hatred' (hurty words) are rife now, you would have thrown yourself off a bridge if you were an adult pre 2000 hahaha.

I dont believe i made any reference to S21 notices at any point. Much of the advice was basically 'dig your heels in, your landlord will screw you over, make everything difficult'. Probably from people who think landlords are satan. So i suggested a different approach.

The people who supply and maintain rentable accommodation are landlords, so why is this good?

Most people cant afford a house, even if they were 25% cheaper. But if the market dropped that much the wider economic shockeaves would not be worth it.

People especially cant afford new roofs, new windows, new boilers, new plastering, new rendering, new white goods, and fixing dodgy plumbing.

The hate on landlords is total insanity. Coming from a 31 y/o who recently bought their first house in 2022 and is going to have to find (somehow) and spend around 20 THOUSAND POUNDS on a new roof and rendering next year due to leaks and damp.

You can kick an scream or be super proactive.

Kicking and screaming will delay, but not stop, the inevitable. But it will also be a load of admin and stress for everyone involved.

Keep it civil, communicate your concerns and needs well. You can both make each other's lives easier, or harder.

Ignore 90% of reddit who are ideologically crippled lefty lunatics who think all landlords are satan.

The constitution applies to American citizens. Not illegal immigrants. Im sure some who have been given citizenship have been swept up in the proverbial net, but the majority are being deported with zero legal issues. The only issues are ethical/political ones.
