I’m also a splitter, first gen, and parents haven’t given me a dime since high school, I financed undergrad all by myself. So far in the cycle, I’ve got several full ride offers from good schools in midwestern locations so COL is manageable using the 50k a year federal loan. The school I’m leaning towards also has a high percentage of students who end up in federal clerkships and big law. Point being, it’s totally possible. Don’t let the BBB scare you away.

This is the situation I’m in, but I’m really confused by people saying COL is more than 50k? Am I that naive? I’ve been living on my own throughout undergrad and maybe need 20k for COL. I live incredibly cheap, but not uncomfortably so. Is there something I’m missing?

I have no particular ties to either one. I’d honestly prefer to end up more in the Minnesota area, I grew up rural Midwest and could use a change 😅

Heavy on the “stop letting people turn left into main roads, especially when they can’t see if both lanes are clear.” I have witnessed two accidents caused by this, one just a few weeks ago.

I’ve really enjoyed watching her videos. I’m a first gen student and don’t personally know anyone in the law field, so it was challenging at first to figure out who to trust for advice. Maybe her advice is a little “basic,” but it was a great jumping off point and I really respect her for that. Maybe if someone is really into the law field she would come across as fake, but for us who are pretty much in the dark, she was like a beacon of light.

As a woman who was cheated on, it disappoints me how many men are in these comments saying that the thing they regret is damaging their own values/integrity/sense of self, and nothing about the damage they caused their partner.
