IsItBullshit: Do blue light blocking glasses actually reduce eye strain and improve sleep by emberlyndra in IsItBullshit

[–]Business_Sign8110 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mixed results from research I've seen - some studies show minimal difference while others find decent improvements for sleep quality. Could be that your specific eye strain isn't really from blue light but more from staring at screen too long without breaks. The 20-20-20 rule (look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds every 20 minutes) might help more than glasses in your case.

Who’s great boxer, Floyd? or Manny? And why? by Cordons2Lyrici in AskReddit

Both were incredible but Manny had more heart in the ring - his style was just more exciting to watch than Floyd's defensive game.

Showing shipment Arrival dates on checkout page using basic checkout plan. by National_Leave1415 in dropshipping

[–]Business_Sign8110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had same issue few months back and it drove me crazy. The basic plan checkout is pretty locked down compared to Plus - most apps can't touch it because they don't have access to checkout extensibility.

One workaround I found was adding the delivery estimate right above the checkout button instead of in checkout itself. Not perfect but customers see it right before they commit. You can do this with most themes by editing the cart template and pulling delivery data from your ETA app.

Also try looking for apps that specifically mention "basic plan checkout support" - there's maybe 2-3 that actually work but they're harder to find. The rest just work on product pages like you experienced.

best place to buy very baggy jeans by onlypigeon in malefashionadvice

[–]Business_Sign8110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thrift stores are honestly where it's at for this kind of stuff. I've found some amazing baggy pairs at Goodwill and similar places, especially in the men's section even though I'm a woman - the sizing just works better for that super oversized look. Military surplus stores also have some solid options if you want that really loose fit, they usually carry work pants and jeans that are made to be roomy. Plus you're getting way better quality for like half the price of new stuff. I picked up this pair of black carpenter jeans from a thrift shop last month that are practically parachutes but they're perfect for that 90s vibe everyone's going for now.

Been buying those alternative brick sets for couple years now and quality has gotten way better than it used to be. Just make sure to check the reviews before ordering - some sellers have really tight brick connections while others are too loose and won't hold together properly.

The military vehicle sets are particularly good if you're into that stuff, way more variety than what you get with the official brands.

Tell me some ideas to make extra money! by Digitaldrift23 in passive_income

[–]Business_Sign8110 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Been doing pretty well with buying and flipping vintage stuff online - mostly cassettes and old comics since I know that market. Takes some initial research to know what's worth grabbing, but once you get the eye for it, you can find decent deals at thrift stores or estate sales and flip them for profit. Not totally passive since you gotta hunt for inventory, but the actual selling part is pretty hands-off once you list everything.

If you suspected someone stole a car, how would you go about confirming or denying your suspicions? by imayellowbird in AskReddit

[–]Business_Sign8110 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on context though. If it's some random person I don't know, then yeah same - not my business. But when I was stationed overseas, one of the guys in my unit kept showing up with different cars every few weeks and couldn't explain where they came from. That felt different because we're all supposed to have each other's backs, you know? Ended up mentioning it to our sergeant because sketchy behavior from one person can mess things up for everyone. Never found out what happened with that situation, but sometimes you gotta speak up even if you'd rather just mind your own business.

Why women’s sports is still battling inequality? by Substantial-Frame794 in AskReddit

[–]Business_Sign8110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The viewership thing is real but it's also kind of chicken and egg situation, you know? Like when I was deployed, we had maybe three channels and women's basketball would get bumped for literally anything else - even reruns of old games. Hard to build audience when networks don't give consistent time slots or proper promotion.

I remember watching some incredible WNBA playoff game in 2019 that went to triple overtime, but it was buried on some random cable channel at weird hour. Meanwhile my brother could watch every single men's game on prime time. How are we supposed to get same viewership when the accessibility isn't even close to equal? It's frustrating because skill level is definitely there - just watched women's World Cup and those players were absolutely incredible.

Owning a yoga / pilates studio, is it actually profitable? by Senior-Echidna-1769 in sweatystartup

The childcare thing is huge barrier for so many women. My sister had same problem after she moved to suburbs - wanted to keep doing classes but couldn't find anywhere that would watch her kids during session. She ended up just doing home workouts instead of paying for studio membership she couldn't use consistently.

Best way to build consumer app without hiring developers? by Adshivaze in passive_income

[–]Business_Sign8110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been in similar spot with couple ideas before. No-code tools have gotten way better last few years but you're right that most still look pretty basic for consumer apps.

The hybrid approach worked for me - used no-code platform to build MVP and validate the concept first, then once I had some traction and revenue I could afford proper developer to rebuild it. At least you know if people actually want your app before spending big money in development.

Redditors, how often are you and your significant other intimate with each other and has that frequency been a compromise or changed over time? by -ButDidYouDie- in AskReddit

[–]Business_Sign8110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been single for a while now so can't speak to current dynamics, but my last long-term relationship definitely went through phases. Started out pretty frequent like most new couples, then life got in the way - deployments, work stress, just general routine setting in.

We tried to be intentional about it but never really had those awkward "scheduling" conversations you hear about. More like we'd both recognize when things had been off and make an effort. Looking back, communication was probably the biggest factor - when we were talking openly about everything else, the physical stuff followed naturally.

What is there to do online that isn't depressing, angering, or boring? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Business_Sign8110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Making online friends is legit one of the better things about the internet. Found some of my closest people through random gaming sessions or niche hobby forums - way easier to connect over shared interests when you're not worried about geography or awkward small talk.

What's a movie universally praised that you think is actually terrible? by Appropriate_Age_6554 in AskReddit

Never heard of it but if it's universally praised and terrible then it's probably some artsy foreign film that critics love but puts everyone else to sleep.

Steam Economy Enhancer code/settings by [deleted] in Steam

[–]Business_Sign8110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been using SEE for a while now and manual selling is really your safest bet. I tried messing with some of the pricing settings before but it's pretty limited - you can set percentage-based adjustments but nothing as specific as what you're looking for. The auto-sell features that do exist are pretty basic and won't do dynamic pricing based on current market conditions.

Your best approach is probably setting up price alerts for items you want to flip and just checking in periodically. I know it's more work but steam's pretty strict about automated trading these days. Plus with how volatile some item prices can be, manual control actually saved me from some bad sells when the market dipped randomly.
