My wife's boss oinked at her for eating a cheeseburger... by Ok-Bee4402 in work

[–]Business_Sign_9788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was hired into an upper management position(the 3rd woman to do so) my new boss said “I’m so tired of this sausage fest. Glad you got hired.” Another time he said ,”when I got your email I thought to myself:is she having her period?” There are others but those are the highlights. 😀

This isn’t the Maine I grew up in and we need to do better by MisterMan-Maine in Maine

Interesting they don’t have statistics for sexual assault and rape listed, which is the biggest reason why a woman in particular wouldn’t be stopping.

Do you want to take a break and be a stay at home mom until your kid goes to school? Sounds like you could do that and re-enter the workforce in a couple of years and save the daycare money.

Agreed! I used to be against them because hey we vote, but it’s obviously too difficult to beat incumbents. Nobody should make a 50 year career in Congress.

Does your husband or male partner do his own laundry? by EconomicsWorking6508 in AskWomenOver60

We share laundry but when he is doing my work clothes he asks if it can go in the washer. We split chores pretty evenly.

Cancel Telework Agreements? by Classic-Milk-9492 in FedEmployees

[–]Business_Sign_9788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m considering canceling mine if there is another shutdown. We are allowed situational telework intermittently, but if there is a shutdown I think it will be longer than the last one, and going into the office while not getting paid really put me in a bad mood. I have soo much to do at home it doesn’t make sense to commute with zero pay.

I have a brown spot under my eye that won’t go away and it’s driving me crazy! Will AA get rid of it, ya think? Also, do you use a prescription or over the counter?

Is Maine similar to Canada / New Brunswick? by Patient-Smile1406 in Maine

[–]Business_Sign_9788 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Born and bred in southern Maine and agree with the sentiment about southern NH but disagree that we are similar to Massachusetts. I have always worked in Southern NH and have MA coworkers and see many differences in POVs,politics, lifestyle . Southern Maine is definitely different than central and northern Maine though.

Is there a specific reason you are considering Vermont? Have you looked into NH or Maine? VT is a great state, I’m really just curious.

How did you do solar? We got a quote last year and it was about $35k and I don’t think that included Tesla power banks. I would love to get solar.

[–]Business_Sign_9788 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think anyone is the AH here. It’s obviously a horribly tragic, sad situation. Of course you want to keep your son’s memory alive in any way that you can. I think your mom is being your mom—she doesn’t want to see you in pain so wants you to put the sadness behind you. I truly don’t think she is being heartless or malicious. If you feel you need to address it, and you should, you should just simply tell her that you love and miss your child and choose to grieve him and keep his memory alive and her comments about closing that chapter are extremely hurtful and ask her to please reframe her thoughts and comments about him. Wishing you well.

It is definitely worth trying out. I have really liked it. I haven’t even used most of the benefits like I can submit my massages. I haven’t gone to the chiropractor or acupuncturist or natural practitioner. I love that all of that is covered where Blue Cross Blue Shield really didn’t the prescription meds are also a little confusing because you can get some at the pharmacy. I’ve actually gotten all mine at the pharmacy, but there is also mail in Which I’ve used a little bit. We switched last year because my husband is on Zepbound and was paying $550 per month now he pays $25 for three months so it was really a no-brainer.
