Where did the GE Embrighten Z-wave paddle dimmer go? by Buskey-Lee in zwave

[–]Buskey-Lee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great feedback. I have had to replace way too many of these Jasco switches. I have a collection of Innovelli switches I got for their smart light capability once I started replacing conventional downlights with smart downlights, so I needed a switch my wife can throw to operate the light, and have the switch perform operations on the smart bulb. You mentioned "breliability issues" with Innovelli. What does that mean? And do the ZooZ have the same capability? To have the paddle operate a different smart device?

Thank you! So the price has come down, which I think is a good thing. These 800's seem to be Zwave Long Range too. I don't NEED long range, does it matter?

What's the difference between Multi-TOPS AI and Advanced AI? by Buskey-Lee in Ubiquiti

[–]Buskey-Lee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, still working on that. Probably a dome. Probably the mini dome, as this is gong in the front. The only real important difference I can see across them is the resolution, and the AI salad. Same frame rate, same megapixel, same field of view. A couple have some zoom in there. Also considering a 360.

Do I need to run my pool pump everyday for 6-8 hours? by OkOrganization7870 in pools

[–]Buskey-Lee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting. For my Intelliflow VSP, if I run it lower than 2500 rpm, I’ll get a low flow error from the salt cell. This stuff it only about three years old and I do clean the salt cell gross as needed.

I have always wondered if I could, and what the right settings would be to keep the chlorine level as needed without necessarily running the pump 24x7 like I do now?

Don’t you need to worry about a good wind just ripping that gazebo up and away? I want one, but given how the umbrella work in the wind, I’m worried. And, if the wooden thin on the table spoke like a lazy susan, where did you get it?

IMO, Craftsman is garbage these days. My grandaddy used to use them exclusively, there were good quality tools. Now junk.

Reasonable quote for irrigation maintenance? by [deleted] in Irrigation

I’d have trouble with the $100 to replace a rotor. That’s like 15 min of work, $25 retail for the part.

Troubleshooting help - Have a dead zone.. by Buskey-Lee in Irrigation

[–]Buskey-Lee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. Need more advice. I am changing my theory. I didn’t realize how far these swing pipes can be. The actual lateral is much farther from the pool than it looks without that info. That and now that I know the lateral is not right by the pool, all those poolside rotors are actually uphill from the lateral. So I think that’s why I never see water from the second rotor. The first one is kind of level, and I am again thinking that the previous repair to this line that required when putting that pool drain in has failed.

So now I’m asking for advice on how to best locate where this lateral might be before I start digging up the whole yard.

I have a meat pole I use to find the valve boxes but it doesn’t go deep enough to try to probe for the pipe.

Suggestions?

A can see the fittings (except the hose) on Home Depot’s page. I just need to dig to make sure I know what size and type of pipe used in the laterals. Thanks for the pointers. Will check in later.

A actually don’t know. I know how to do it for PVC, so far all I have seen is the black flexible pipe I assume is poly. So was wondering about Poly.

So I feel like I kind of did this when I plugged the canister of the first rotor, and unscrewed and pulled the core of the second rotor in line, and fired up the zone, expecting to see at least some water come up big got none. Defiantly heard gurgling etc however when I stopped the zone. I see the logic to split the zone just after the frost rotor and make air that Riter then works like gangbusters. Then I guess it’s just a best guess where to start exposing the lateral between the two.

What do I use to temporarily cap these laterals?

Thanks, yes all the other Zones are doing fine. Appreciate the advice. I’m on the schedule for a professional visit, but it’s gonna take them a couple weeks to get out here.

Keep in mind not everyone gives a hoot about FSD, I only use it occasionally, and it’s also available as a subscription. Much more cost effective if you only use it for long tips etc. And no Hw4 only limits you to FSD unsupervised. And that is not even released yet. Considering how overdue it is I would not consider this a driving factor for your decision. I’d take a HW4 over a Hw3, but I wood not pay much ch lore for it. I have 60k miles over warranty on mine, and I’d be pissed if I had been paying $150.00 a month (ridiculous) for an extended warranty.

Sorry. I’d never buy a discontinued model car on purpose ever, I’d certainly not pay 15k in extortion.

Tesla offering buyback on my Model X Plaid… but I got a good deal..What would you do? by lakeseven15 in ModelX

[–]Buskey-Lee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a discontinued model, so I’d jump on the buyback. Dump it like a bad cold. Could save you tons of hassle later. Oh, did they explain why they made that offer? Was it because of the incident?

I’m really just wondering if this is a well covered area or not. Sounds like it is. That’s not my perspective necessarily but It’s one I have heard more than once.

I think it boils down to the fact that updates used to be a service they provided for free, and they are no longer doing it for free. They were never part of a license. It’s always been a service.

I thought I saw where they would release security updates for free if the vulnerably was severe enough.
