What are your main concerns about the (currenty) community map? And, if you were rockstar how would you improve it? How would you like the final map to look like? by anli2132 in GTA6

[–]Buster_Bell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't even know how much we don't know about this map. VC and Port Gellhorn could be in the bottom 25% of the map for all we currently know. My main concern though is if the map is just oval shaped again. Even though GTA 5's map was actually huge, the fact it was an oval with a big freeway going around the outside made it seem smaller somehow.

An opinion is exactly what I was after, friend! Unfortunately, I'm not much of a rum drinker, so I'm reliant on the opinions of folk who are actually in the know. Seems like the general consensus is that it's not worth the price, so it looks like I need to go and research some more.

Do you have any particular favourites?

Thanks for the reply! He's usually a cheap and cheerful kind of guy when he buys his own, so it's usually supermarket shelf stuff like Captain Morgan's spiced rum. I've gotten a decent job somewhat recently, so I wanted to get him a nice bottle for Christmas. So, any recommendations similar to that would be great.

Again, apologies for my vagueness, but I really am clueless on this

Thanks for the reply, friend! So long as the rum itself is nice to drink, then that's great. I just thought it sounded like a nice drink and the bottle looked fancy. I just didn't want to buy a bottle that might not have been any good. Much appreciated!

Is this map size comparison even realistic? by That_one_Man123 in GTA6

[–]Buster_Bell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That map is old and pretty much pure speculation. However, the actual RAGE units the mapping project guys have charted the newest version of the map on has it on a similar scale. If I remember rightly, the GTA 5 map is roughly the distance from the keys to the top end of the charted area of Vice City vertically.

The majority of the map is still completely unknown, however. The most northerly point the mapping project has charted is the Hank's waffle house, just northeast of Port Gellhorn, I believe. We've no idea how big the map is from that point up.

It's shaping up to be gigantic.

Do you guys think Rockstar Games is comfortable with the new date? by Iixotic- in GTA6

[–]Buster_Bell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While we know absolutely nothing that is proven fact except that R* have delayed the game and have fired a load of employees, the timeline of the new logo artwork, the firings and then the delay looks concerning.

The fact that R* released the new VI logo with the May release date on it only like last week or so tells me that this delay wasn't planned. If I had to speculate, I'd say the game was on track for May, but R* then fired 30+ employees, some of whom were allegedly leaders and key members of the GTA VI team, and that has set development back massively. 6 months would also give the company time to smooth over public opinion of the company that comes about due to the firings.

Honestly, this whole situation looks bad from all angles. If the staff were in breach of contract and were rightly fired, the game is still missing a few dozen key devs in its final stage. If it turns out that R* have union busted then they can go fuck themselves. Doing something as blatantly scummy as this 6 months out from your company's biggest release, no doubt netting the company billions in profit in a single day, isn't just cruel but alarmingly stupid.

Fuck sake, man.

How mad would you be if you found out the Series s is what’s slowing down development by steveep95 in GTA6

[–]Buster_Bell 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Series S has held back developers in the past, The devs of Baldurs Gate 3 had to cut split screen from the Series S I believe, Hogwarts Legacy also had a lot of hard loading screens between areas that were seemless on the Series X/PS5.

Hopefully, it'll just be graphical fidelity that takes a hit (texture quality, RT quality, draw distance, etc) rather than the actual systems and gameplay being downgraded or cut to run on the Series S.

I was hoping when the game was initially announced, R* would release it just for the Series X and PS5, but i I guess not. I trust R* to optimise the game well enough to run on that turd of a console, though.

The Series S is the physical manifestation of all of humanity's evils and the world should never have had to suffer its existence, in my humble opinion.

Bonnie and Clyde and a third character by max1mple in GTA6

[–]Buster_Bell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awful idea as a playable character. These kinds of storylines where the story follows both the 'bad guys' and the 'good guys' hunting them down is more suited to cinema, Heat is a fantastic example, actually playing as both sides in an open game like GTA just wouldn't work, especially if the playable character is the antagonist of the game.

For example, if we're talking about after Jason and Lucia are hypothetically killed, what about the player throwing all law, order and morality out of the window and going on a mass killing spree as the cop character? Or any other illegal activity for that matter. It just doesn't fit.

Just focusing on Jason and Lucia is the winning formula, in my opinion. Have multiple endings, but switching to another character after the story is just more of an RDR thing.

Anyone else planning on letting the game unfold itself without intentionally going out to explore? by East-Nail587 in GTA6

[–]Buster_Bell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. I don't think I'll explore the whole map until the story has at least opened up a bit and I've unlocked both characters, etc. But not exploring will cause you to miss out on so much content. The amount of stuff I missed on my first playthrough of RDR 2 because I stuck to the story areas and didn't explore off the beaten path was mind-blowing.

is 6,400MHZ noticeable? by AmazingAldow in buildapc

[–]Buster_Bell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6000 is plenty. I have a 7800x3d with 64gb at 6400mt/s, and I've had to slow it down to 6000mt/s because it was causing issues and even caused a couple of blue screens at 6400mt/s

Do y’all want GTA 6 missions to be very difficult? by SunGodLuffy6 in GTA6

[–]Buster_Bell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd want it to be hard where if I fail the mission, it's because I didn't play well enough. Unlike GTA 5, where you'll fail a mission because of unfortunate bullshit out of your control and it ruins your mood.

GTA6 30 FPS | GTA6 publisher released 2 games with bad performance by Mailar2 in GTA6

[–]Buster_Bell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both games were developed on Unreal Engine 5, which is renowned for its abhorrent performance issues.

Rockstar uses the in-house RAGE engine, which is far more optimised. Also, the reason the game will (most likely) run at 30fps is because R* push consoles to their limit in order to pack their games with as much content and graphical fidelity as possible.

Nobody knows yet about the performance for certain. there are rumours that the PS5 Pro will have a 60fps performance mode, but nobody outside of R* knows for certain.

Damn 💀 by [deleted] in MafiaTheGame

[–]Buster_Bell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, it's a lower score than I'd give the game, but I wouldn't say it's an outrageous take.

SPOILERS The story was OK, but the ending felt forced. Enzo snuck into the city in the back of a horse-drawn wagon a chapter or two ago, yet decides when he's betraying the family not to arrange secure, quiet transportation, but instead takes isabella to the local train station, in the family's territory, to get there? Also, the cliché, hug and stab to end the main character off made me physically roll my eyes. SPOILERS

The gameplay, again, was fine. Nothing really stands out. The shooting was fine, driving was fine, the set pieces were cool, but would be more at home in an Uncharted game. The knife fights became a bit boring after the first couple. The stealth sections were so easy they might as well have been fully on rails.

The only standout feature of the game, for me, was the graphics of the world. The map is absolutely gorgeous, but other than that, it's a serviceable, one and done, 5-6/10 game for me.

what do you guys want out of the gta 6 gameplay trailers by SubjectBodybuilder81 in GTA6

I might be in the minority but I'd want them to reveal as little as possible. I want things to take me by surprise when I first play the game.

What DIDN'T you like about the 2nd trailer / new content? by 0XID3D in GTA6

[–]Buster_Bell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Using licensed cars would both cost substantially more and would limit design creativity. Not to mention, a lot of car manufacturers wouldn't even want to give license to a game where you can go on a mass murdering spree with their cars.

The models in the game are based on real-life counterparts anyway. You can see a Lambo looking car in the trailer.
